Love is never enough to keep someone. In order to keep a relationship strong and secure, the couple has to always focus on keeping the lines of communication open and honest, be patient with each other, always think of the other before yourself and forgive. Loving someone is easy, staying in love is something quite different.

You can love someone completely and still not be able to sustain a romantic relationship with that person. I am going through a breakup that is teaching me just that; we love each other, but our lives now and what we want in the future are too different for us to ever be able to live and work together as husband and wife.

That is a good question. As long as the two people in love are on the same page as far as what they want from the relationship. Love is the tie that binds if you ask me. Through love, people are able to make it through anything. Love is the strongest force in existence.

It is. But sometimes other things help like:
1. Understanding.
2. Maturity.
3. Sex.
4. Matching views and opinions.
5. Matching values.

Love is never enough. You also need friendship, forgiveness and so many other things. You must be able to be yourself not only for yourself, but for your mate as well. You cannot let yourself become a doormat for another person. You also need self respect as well as respect for your mate. You also must be able to have communication skills that allow you to have calm, rational discussions and not blow up over a comment or disagreement. So, no, love is never enough.......

"A bird and a fish can fall in love; but where are they gonna make a home?" I don't remember where I heard that, but it helped when me and my fiancee decided it wasn't gonna work with us.
