Just wondering, how do people normally pronounce
"it is"
I tend to pronounce it as "eaD is", like the T is not aspired.
So sort of like read it like "itis"

Same as:
"what if"
"that is"
the "t" at the end is silent for me.

Is that how other people usually pronounce it too?
Appreciated if native speakers can help me with it.

Hi, I am from Taiwan and I am reading a novel.
'Sylvia, dear,'I say,'do you think we might have some tea?' Sylvia looks up,'tea?' 'Perhaps some biscuits,'I say.'Of course.'Reluctantly, she pockets her cloth. I nod towards Ursula.'Yes,please,'she says,'White and one.' Sylvia turns to Keira,'And you, Ms. Parker?' Keira yawns,'Green tea and lemon.' 'Green tea,' Sylvia says slowly.

What does "white and one"mean here? Does it refer to white tea? I cannot understand it. Any explanation will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Why some of you can't help others to translate and send them to translation sites? It is so easy to help. If they don't want to learn that is up to them but you have the satisfaction that you help.

The lyrics are from the song "a little pain" by OLIVIA. I've found different translations of the following lines on different websites, so I'm looking for another opinion:

kimi wa nemuri yume wo toku
dare mo inai hoshi no hikari ayatsurinagara

tsuyoku naru tame wasureta egao
kitto futari nara torimodosu

Also, if there are any words that can be translated differently depending on the context, or words that are idioms, please tell me. Thank you!

I was thinking about going to school to get a good career, but my boyfriend told me I could probably get a job based on the fact that I am multi-lingual. I speak English, Spanish, French, Chinese (Mandarin), and German fluently, and I speak some Italian, Japanese, and Arabic ( Probably the equivilant of 3 years in a high school class). Is this a marketable skill, if so, what can I do with it?

In Tokyo Mew Mew Ichigo is part cat so sometimes she goes, "Nya". I've also heard it in other animes. So do the cats in Japan make a sound different from cats in America? Do they make a sound closer to, 'nya' than 'meow'?
