1. My family is very large, two of my grandparents had ten brothers and sisters each!

2. My father’s mother was an only child, but she had a lot of cousins.

3. I have so many aunts and uncles, I will never be able to meet them all.

4. When my great grandmother passed away she had twenty-one grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, at the funeral about half of the people that attended had to stand because it was so crowded.

5. At our family reunions I can see just some of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and my grandmother.

I have been listening to the Delarey song on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=429AU...elated&search=
and found it quite beautiful and moving. Could someone please tell me a little bit about the Afrikaner language. Correct if I'm wrong, but I think it is basically Dutch. But what is it mixed with and how did it evolve?

Y'know how a brogue is English spoken with some kind of Irish accent? Is there a more generic word or term, in English, which means pronouncing a series of words with an accent which is distinctively from another language?

Actually, we need an Editor and Author to translate English articles to Spanish articles like a Pro... I am talking about wikiHow ( http://www.wikihow.com/ ), if you want to help out then just visit http://www.wikihow.com/User:VivekRohra , and leave out a note, with your E-mail address, or simply register yourself for free, and start editing articles and writing the new ones.
So, who wants to work with us????

I do not speak Spanish, (I am trying to learn), but I work with a lot of Spanish speaking people. It seems that the ones that are trying to learn English always understand what I am telling them, but can't tell me what I just said. Why is that?
