After being around someone who has an accent, you begin to also have one. It's completely natural. You adapt to your surroundings.

My native language is german, so when I moved to the states, I found that every state I lived in I kinda started to sound like them. People now say I have a southern accent, even though I'm not actually from the south. So the answer for me is yes

also, if you ever run into an american soldier, you won't be able to tell where their from, cause it's so many guys (and gals) coming together from all over that for some reason they all sound the same, too.

Heh, my mom was briefly married to a guy from Canada quite a few years back, and I still sometimes find myself saying "couch" funny. And my guy thinks I'm really Southern & just pretending to be a Yankee because I can do the accent on command. (There's some words I *always* say with a Southern accent, because it adds emphasis heh.)

perhaps your accessory sounds British with the aid of fact you pronounce each and each syllable (like we many times do in French), at an analogous time as human beings tend to "consume" their syllables. I hate it too whilst French human beings attempt to communicate English... i'm chinese language from Africa. My 1st written language is English. My 1st spoken language is Creole and my 2d language, the two spoken and written is French. I additionally talk a chinese language dialect... so, do no longer question me approximately my accessory. LOL!
