Thanksgiving is a day of great feasting, and believe it or not there could be people even on the internet today that don't have food, or shelter, matters how they have access to the internet.

why are days like the day after thanksgiving day considered "black"? does it have something to do with the stampede of people who go shopping for those low price gifts? what is the origin of black (sale) days?

I bought an already cooked turkey dinner from Wal-Mart and picked it up today. I had no ides it would come FROZEN SOLID!
I was going to take it back but when we were going to buy a turkey to make ourself they were just as frozen. Is it possible to cook a turkey like this? Can you leave it at room temperature over night to thaw it? Any new suggestions? Thanks ahead of time!

just wondering.... I've always wanted a huge feast with my parents (both at the same time) and the rest of my family all of them.....with kids screaming and cookie dough and pumpkin pie and homemade stuffing....but instead I get a small meal.....NEVER TAKE YOUR FAMILY FOR GRANTED ;-)

Tomorrow will be the first time I have ever hosted Thanksgiving. Both of my parents (they are divorced, but they get along really well, they are really good friends aside from us kids) my brother, his wife and their two small children and my husband will be here. We have a small house, so even though we don't have lots of knick-knacks our house seems "full". Should I take down personal items like family pictures and collections in lieu of Thanksgiving decor? What is Thanksgiving decor? Will the house look tacky and over done if I do decorate since it is small? Thanks for any suggestions.
--I will have a set table with linens and a center piece, probably a low level flower/fruit bouquet.

My grandmother loves creating weird casseroles that don't have names. Ever since I was little I can remember her making this "pink stuff" for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. I've never liked it much though. All I can remember is that it has mini marshmallows in it and is covered in a light pink sauce( made from some kind of berry). I think it might also have coconuts in it (not sure) I mentioned it in my last question and a couple people said they didn't like "the pink stuff" either....so maybe its not one of my grandmothers strange concoctions? Does it have a name?
