Turkey was the game that was plentiful and easy to kill during the time the Pilgrims and Indians got together for a thanksgiving feast.

I'm not sure but i believe people eat turkey because back at the first thanksgiving turkey was one of the few animals found in abundance with winter coming up. They were large birds and could easily feed many. I may be wrong.

Actually, turkey might not have been on the Pilgrim's menu. What most likely was on the table was shellfish, venison, fish, duck, rabbit, but probably not turkey. The Pilgrims had already had turkey in Europe for many years before they arrived at Plymouth.

Well.. yeah, there was probably alot of other game there. But since Turkeys a big bird, then I'm sure they had alot of it. That's the whole point of Thanksgiving.. cooking a big meal for alot of friends and family, soooooooo you would want a BIG BIRD... LOL
