I've seen a lot of Halloween costumes for Tina the Target and Billy Bulls Eye, and I have no idea who they is. I figure since Halloween is a holiday, somebody would know.

Why is it that the Jews have Hanukkah, Passover, and Yom Kippur on the list, and African Americans have Kwanzaa on the list, and all the Christians have all their holidays on the list, but we Pagans always get grouped in the "other" category? And please, no answers from Pagan bashers. There's no need to show me how compassionate and non-judgmental your religion is by telling me that I'm on the fast track to Hell, thank you.

Oak Apple Day
Watch out you Republicans !

29th May

The wearing of a sprig of oak on the anniversary of Charlie's crowning (1660) showed that a person was loyal to the restored king. Those who refused to wear an oak-sprig were often set upon, and children would challenge others to show their sprig or have their bottoms pinched. Consequently, this day became known as Pinch-Bum-Day. In parts of England where oak-apples are known as shick-shacks, the day is also known as Shick-Shack Day. It is also likely that the royal association conceals a pagan tradition of tree worship.

Should it be a national holiday?

Times have changed so much! It used to be that halloween was a spooky night, full moon, scary trees (no leaves), ghosts and goblins, witches, jack-o-lanterns, scarecrows, ghost stories and such. Now, it's spiderman, princesses, ninja turtles, Barney, etc.. When and why did things change so much? Aren't we still supposed to make the demons think we're one of them so they don't "get" us?
