Off the shoulder pastel tunic, tight black leggings, pumps (patent leather and pointy as all get out...) , fishnet stocking, chunky earrings (preferrably large plastic hoops in pastel or black and white check...the tackier the better.Just make sure they're plastic..) Lace gloves with fingers cut out. Clothes were really boxy then. For hair, big puffy bangs, hair gelled behind the ears and teased. Kind of a mullet. Ponytail to the side would work too.

Oh...you could crimp your hair too. LOL.and instead of leggings you could wear a mini-skirt.

Makeup hasn't really changed that much, but I remember that gloss was more a 70's thing that went away in the 80's. you could wear pale lipstick or some offbeat pastel.

I cringe when I think of how we dressed.

neon
high heels with baby doll socks
stirup pants with over sized top and giant belt
baggy overalls
shoulder pads

watch any of the movies from then - it's easier than you think especially TV's the cosby show.
the whole madonna like a virgin look
flashdance
dynasty
falcon crest
knots landing
dallas

oh and the makeup....bright/dark eye shadow - striped from lash line to brow - literally striped
purple lipstick
striped (dark) blush

jewerly - fake and colored. BIG earrings - the bigger the better

HUGE hair - the taller the better!

depending on your personal style - expect everyone to do the madonna thing.... if you like going against the tyipcal - choose your own!

i have to tell you - you ar really depressing me..... it's sad to know your "youth" has now become on the "eras" -- man i'm old now - thanks ; )

gotta go with the total Madonna look---get a bunch of black plastic bracelets, leg warmers, big hair (curly with tall bangs), lots of black eyeliner with blue eye shadow, guess shorts, black boots, a florescent pink (or other color) shirt and ripped tank over top of it. You can wear a Jordache purse if you can find one! If you can't get a clear idea from this look at the Lucky Star video from Madonna, watch The Legend of Billie Jean, or a Michael Jackson video. Good luck!

Anything "Valley Girl" from the early 80's would qualify. If you dress up like Madonna or Cindi Lauper during that period, you'd probably nail the look you were after.

Leg warmers, scrunchies, high heels, slap bracelets, blue eye shadow, crimp your hair, leggings, and take a sweatshirt and cut around the collar so your shoulders hang out! Have fun!
