Or do you feel the way Elaine Benis does, i.e. that it's the equivalent to receiving a box full of cash? I personally love them, a lot of my relatives have lost touch with what kind of books, music, etc. I prefer.So in the end, I think it's very considerate, it shows they want me to have a gift I can really enjoy instead of just randomly guessing. Plus, if you're like me and a little short on holiday cash, gift cards can be used to buy others gifts.
Yet, some people hate them, and consider it very rude.

It's for not so fortunet(sp) familys, you buy gifts for someone. you get their name off a tree and buy for them for CHRISTMAS.I do every year, but I think It would be neat to give them your gift yourself so you can see them being surprised!!! what do you think ?

My family celebrates Chanukah. Trying to avoid the commercialism of the holidays and to teach my daughter that not everyone gets toys like you see on tv, I've used this opportunity to teach of those less fortunate and the meaning of presents. However, my daughter (5 years) asked me why, if Santa goes to every house, don't poor people get gifts? And, if they don't have a house for a tree, where does Santa put the gifts? And, if Santa knows where you're sleeping and knows when you're awake, why can't he find the homeless and deliver them presents? I'm at a loss on how to answer this one...any help??? Thank you!

Is It me or Is the mood absolutely gone this year. I work part time In the food Industry. The customers come In and demand what they want and tips are a Insult. When I say merry christmas to them the ones that do respond either just kinda smile or say something negative.

What happened? Did I miss something? Did the grinch really steal christmas?
