We do give to the angel tree also. But I think that remaining anonymous is the best way. I mean, what if it is someone you know, that might make them feel horrible if they knew that you knew their family was needy.

Angel Tree is a beautiful program that provides gifts to the children of incarcerated parents. When you buy a gift for the Angel Tree program it is actually given in the parent's name. Unfortunately my church doesn't do Angel Tree, we do United Way Christmas Service families, but as I work at a women's prison I was glad to be part of a program that encouraged a church to donate gifts so that our grandmothers would be able to give gifts to their grandkids. Angel Tree, although wonderful, is not able to help grandparents. So, no I think its nicer if the gift is given in the name of the parent, but I appreciate your spirit of giving.

Nope -- the presents are given to the parents so they can be Santa for their own children, and bring joy to the adults too. Also, there are weirdos out there that would only buy gifts to get to the kids.

there are plenty of places such as the brotherhood of st lawrence where you can do volunteer work and see the reaction face to face, however i believe the angel tree is a grest idea and i give a gift every year and i just hope they get enjoyment out of my present

Angle tree kids it's for less fortunate family's, but it's to make the kids think it came from their Mom are Dad, because they really didn't have the money to give to their own kids, also kids would love to think that this was giving by their love ones! i give to the Angle tree, but most will never even really know me! and i don't care just happy i can help!!!!!!!!

Yes, my job does this for foster kids, kids with terminal illnesses, needy kids, etc... I bought a gift for a 12 yr. old boy who is mentally ill, and to me it is a blessing to be able to buy a gift for him and bring him some happiness. I think it would be wonderful to see his smiling face as he opens his gift!!

i like the idea of the tree being anonomyous so that the children recieving the presents don't know that strangers gave them the presents, they are given to the parents before xmas eve ... just know in your heart that they are surprised and that your geneoristy has given them a christmas .
(boy my spelling stinks tonight!!)

Most of those gifts get given to the children from "Santa," so as great as it would be to see their expressions, it would defeat the purpose.
