How do I hang a Christmas stocking with a stone fireplace without buying a stocking hanger?

I would take pipe cleaners and tie my stockings to a string of colorful garland like red or just use plain green with colorful stockings and space them out along the garland. Then drape the garland by tacking it to the wall on both sides and using transparent tape to make them trim the fire place neat. Then hang pretty decorative ornaments from the tacks on both sides. I would make sure I picked out Christmas colors to match everything including the stone on the fireplace but when in doubt use red always works.

Check out Pottery Barn and/or Restoration Hardware. They both sell stocking hangers that sit on the mantle. The base is heavy enough to offset the weight of the stocking. I have used these and they work.

3M command adhessive hooks, make sure to get the heavy duty ones that hold at least 5 lbs.we use the ones that hold 10+ pounds to hold the weight. That is what we use, they are about $4 for a 2 pack and you can buy extra adhessive pads for a dollar or so, so they can be reused

There are hangers with adhesive backings, and some with suction cups, and you could use duct tape as well. Once the holidays are over you can remove the hanger and there will be little or no trace of it.

Go to your local hardware store and ask for concrete nails, when you get home with them drive the number of nails you need to hang stockings into the mortor. I grew up in a brick home with a brick fireplace and that is what my daddy did and unless you were looking for them you can't see them.

Ok well here's wat my mom does, she uses a cute little christmas paper weight and since most stockings have like that little hangy thing @ the end she just sets the paper weight on top and it looks so cute u'd nevr guess it was a paper weight!!
