We all know jesus wasn't born on christmas. So why does everyone celebrate christmas what is the true orgin behind christmas does anyone know. I heard it had some pagan roots in it. Can anyone help me out here.

For Christmas this year, it's just going to be my Mom, brother, boyfriend and myself. We're making a nice dinner and have ham as our main dish, but I was trying to think of other things to have with dinner besides the normal mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, those sorts of things.

What are some interesting things that you and your family make for Christmas dinner? Any recipe links would be helpful, too! :o)

I work with 8 women in a pharmacy, this is my first christmas as a pharmacist, and am looking for a gift to get all of them....i have no idea what women like, looking to spend $50 (for each gift), and gift cards are too impersonal....., can any women help me out????

In my first "Get your points", I apparently offended some people by using Xmas. That WAS NOT my intent. My intent IS to wish each and every person a Very Merry Xmas/Christmas and a Very Happy New Year. It is just much easier to type Xmas, instead of Christmas;-). In addition to trying to spread some cheer for the Holiday Season, I also wanted to let people get points. Personally, I feel that if you HAVE to correct me in this most special time of year, I hope Santa will leave a lump of coal in your stocking. Aren't we all just supposed to get along and try to help our fellow man/woman? That's my opinion folks, and I'm sticking to it! :-)) MERRY XMAS/CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! May the Great Spirit/God/Buddha/Allah/Whomever Bless us one and all. May She/He also give our leaders some common sense and smarts--HO HO HO!! She said it takes a 6 volt adapter that plugs into the wall. It did not come with it and you could use batteries instead. It is driving me nuts!!

My son has 3 teachers. One young female (easy to buy for), and 2 men, 1 young (about 30) and 1, alittle older. What kind of gifts do you think they would really appreciate? I don't think they like personalized mugs and notepads (they must have tons of them) ..I'm thinking something more pratical and/or personal. I'm willing to spend about $25.00-$30.00 each on them. The 12-year-old girl is almost 13 and often wants to do what the older sister does as well. They are both tall and cute, no boyfriends, good students, creative, know a little sewing. They like Harry Potter and are still looking forward to the next book and movie. They both have their own rooms. Just moved from California to Utah. They both like to sing.
