It seems that every night there's a new spotlight on some alleged racist/prejudist situation, some of them stupid (the Snickers commercial) some of them serious (Race crimes), but focusing on them all the time is just dividing us more.
Sometimes things are just funny and shouldnt be dissected into what they meant by it, it is really limiting our creative freedom people!

I am absolutely appalled! I just read how people are saying that Prince's performance at the SuperBowl with the shadow imaging during Purple Rain was to accentuate a certain "private" area with the guitar! What?! How bored are these people? I totally enjoyed the performance, as I am sure that most did as well. Does anyone on here think that is what he was doing with his guitar? Where did they expect him to hold it, on his neck? Oh, no, he couldn't do that it would then be considered an indecent insinuation of his tongue. How far are we going to let this go? With everything going on across the US and the world, people are spending time thinking things like this. No wonder we are in the situation we are with such close minded individuals trying to enforce their idiocricies.

Im blonde and I have blonde carpet (pubic hair). I love chicks with blonde carpet, but you know not shaving at all is gross. But grooming it so theres some left so you know that they are a natural blonde would make sense. Why do chicks especially blondes always shave it all off. I know both groups of people speak Spanish, but why are people from Spain considered 'white' but people from Mexico are not? I also know Hispanic is not a race. If I offend anybody, I apologize in advance, as that was not my intention. I am just curious and would like to know. Thank you!

A "Stop the Hate" chapter at my University is getting heat because they are calling their current project, "I Ain't No Hater". Many (white) students and faculty have claimed that people will be turned-off by a "such a blatantly offensive ebonics term". I am trying to argue that, if that is true, they are making the very assumptions that the organization is fighting against -- and that this fact should be used as a tool to expand on the project and have that very discussion. It's been said many times that the term 'black person' or 'black people' is offensive to some.

Why isn't the same true for the label of 'white people'?

White people is not a race.

White people are derivied from many European sects, nationalities and tribes dating back thousands of years. Anglos, Celts, Saxons, and various other Germanic, and Slavic ethnic groups are all today lumped into the group, "white people"

I myself am proud to be descended from Celts, and Slovaks & Poles.

A secondary question, if you will. Have 'white people' lost our culture? Do we even acknowledge anything beyond the generic, sterilized label of 'white people' anymore?

Believe it or not, Anglos, Saxons, Celts, Slavics, folks descended from Baltic regions, not to mention Nords, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting---all have very rich, very dynamic cultures which I believe are lost when we give ourselves a bland label like "white people" Your thoughts?

I have a few white friends. All of them are cool, but I sware. Occasionally one of them will say something that borders on racism, but I just never know.

Example, white friends assume I am an expert on rap music, or that Im a fan of Will Smith.

Are my friends racist?
Should I tell them?
