Everyone should have the right to be judged on their own individual worth, rather than their race or gender or preference entering into it. But it seems that when equality becomes mandated, by things like affirmative action for example, the party that feels "equalized" eventually finds that they're too competetive for "equal" to be good enough. You can't climb any further if we're all supposedly mandated to be "equal", right? And as a result, the inevitable occurs and they start to shoot for "above and beyond"...creating a hostile environment for everyone.
Do we need to find some alternatives to how we deal with this dynamic?? because, this ain't working too well!

Everyone keeps going on about being "British" Well what is British??? We go about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or aTurkish Kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on A Japanese TV. And the most British thing of all? Suspicion of anything foreign. If it wasn't for immigration across the board we would have none the above.........

i have a problem, i know its a problem, please don't lecture me on it in your answer. in a non-anti-semitic intent, i call people Jews, its meant to be an insult, any way i know a lot of Jews and i don't think its right for me to say this or anyone. if you could tell me some 'school appropriate insults' that will get my point across, but without being a jerk. Please no pansy insults, like ,u silly fart.
Thank you.

I'm slightly spazzy, a little perverted (UNDERSTATEMENT ALERT) and very cheery. Some people can't stand me, but everyone else is okay with me. Besides, the people that hate me love my wierd friends that have so many things in common with me it's scary...

I don't try to be wierd, I just am =D

Besides that, people think I'm stupid just because I'm too jumpy....I'm pretty smart, I'm just too friendly to it in people's faces.

Northern Ireland has a bad reputation and that annoys me alot, it is all blown out of proportion by the media focusing on past events. Have you ever been, what are your views?

Canada and the USA share a border, but when I was across The Pond I found crossing the border from Canada into the USA was like crossing into a different universe.

I found Canadians to be quiet, reserved, polite, and worldly ... Americans were ... erm ... well, the exact opposite.

There is also a lot more "Britishness" to Canada (pubs, the food, street names, even the architecture), which I found comforting, but I'm sure this is due to Canada being a former member of the Empire.

By the way, this is not meant to be an anti-America post, I'm just wondering if anyone else wondered why these two seemingly similar countries are so very different in so many ways.

I blame Jermaine for the racism row in the Big Brother house. Jade is not a racist she's just different culture and class to Shilpa and has a massive chip on her shoulder which was bound to cause problems. Jo and Danielle are just petty and imature little girls with a school-girl mentality.
Jermaine, on the other hand, kept telling Shilpa that it was all to do with the fact that she was a person 'of colour'. What BS.
He has big issues as this is a very convenient excuse. Wouldn't it be great to dismiss every problem or every rejection or person who didn't like you as a racist.

They wanted to send these cute white kids who were 1/8 Chinese to China where they could not speak the language and force them to breed with them. They want to force race mixing and want people to give up their rights as citizens. They want to force white women with a little bit of something else in them to race mix. They want to force people to move to lands in which they do not know the language.

There are very few blacks in my sport. Some say that it is physiology (high muscule mass, low body fat, ...). Others say that it has to do with opportunities, because blacks are supposedly poorer, with less access to good coaching and pools. I don't like either answer. I think that there are plenty of black Americans, Europeans, and South Africans who have access to pools and coaching. While most black people that I have seen in public pools have terrible swimming technique, I know of, and have known, a few really good black swimmers, eg Malia Metella (French olympian). Some say that they are exceptions. I am wondering if relexibility is an issue - you need shoulder flexibility to be good at swimming, although I've seen one incredible black yogi on Venice Beach. Perhaps swimming has simply never seemed "cool" to the various black subcultures distributed around the planet.
Can I hope to see more racial diversity in my sport ?
Thanks!
