O.K., these are just some personal observations, and of course do not reflect all Baby Boomers; however, I do see many common patterns among this age bracket in today's society among the Baby Boom generation:

Too many Baby Boomers feel that they have to follow trends and fads found in pop culture.
They try to compete with one another a great deal of the time.
They are often jealous of younger people so many resort to plastic surgery, which never looks right because true youth can only be created through innocence.
They try to act as if they were twenty or thirty years old again instead of acting their age.
Many Baby Boomers consider popularity and group activity to be more important than individuality.

So why are these commonalities found within this peer group? Do you believe that it has to do with being raised in a society dominated by army/military propaganda? Do you believe that the generations X and Y will follow these same patterns? What patterns will x & y follow?

while White comedians essentially have to walk on eggshells in their routines.

Michael Richards aside (I don't think he was funny, and it was a pathetic insult as well), White comedians cannot touch the issue of race, while comedians like Dave Chappelle have free license to explore the humor of race.

Why do you think this is the case these days, and on a side note, how does Don Rickles make a living these days?

I have been reading into European history and there are many occurrences that remind me of what happened to black Americans and other non white races. For example. There are European races that had their history and their languages stripped from them by white people much as the slaves did. I would like to be fair here. So is it true that the Europeans suffered under similar tyranny to that which they subjected the brown races to?

I am not trying to be anti-sematic, or blasfamis, (I don't think I spelled that right) but I have often wondered if God was just something or someone that someone else made up to put fear into people. By saying stuff like

"You will go to hell if you don't believe in GOD"

And for that matter is there really a Hell and Devil, Lucifer? Or was he made up to scare the hell outta young people?

I was raised baptist, But I have always had these questions lingering in the back of my mind.

I mean I believe in GOD, but how do we know fr a fact that he/she exist? How are we for certain that undoubtedly there is a Spiritual being floating around us? And who wrote the bible to begin with? How are we certain that some crazy person trying to scare the heck outta people didn't write some stuff on a piece of paper and then go off and tell folks that God wrote to him. and said this is what you have to send out to the people of the world, because he, GOD, said so.

Just got into a heated discussion about Native American rights. Is it true that they don't pay taxes, get free education in state universities, make their own laws (they can operate casinos when average people are regulated) on the land they live on (reservations)? And if that's the case, is that really fair to the rest of us? Isn't there some kind of discrimination going on here? My friend says the fact that the Seminole tribe just bought the Hard Rock Cafe business for a billion dollars shows that something is wrong. Here are tribal leaders amassing tons of money to make more money while they keep their people in poverty so they can hold up the poor downtrodden Native American and try to make everybody feel sorry for them. He says it's like a third world dictatorship. I had to concede that something isn't right. What do you think?

I noticed that if you use caller in ID a call center and the area code is 916, I was right 9 out of 10 times that the person calling was a mega-***. Also I live somewhere where a lot of californians move and the rudest nastiest people moved here from Sacramento or surrounding area. I have never been there. Is it hell or what?

First of all - I am not racist. In my workplace I have some very good friends from different cultures, backgrounds, faiths. I trust and respect them.
My piont is, if it is a fact that most of the terrorist acts in the last few years have been performed and owned by the Muslim people, how can it be discriminatory to say that some Muslims are terrorists? I don't understand.

I was during a project about Social injustice and about Racsim and I found out that Latin American still has alot of Racsim. Many of the Black Latinos aren't even considered people in Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, El Salvador, and Colombia. I'm Black and Hispanic myself and I dealt with this sort of racism I been called mayata and muya so many times it hurts. Why is this still going on in this region? There are more than 200 million Black hispanics.

posts I used one racial slur for black people and one for Mexican people. Within 5 minutes the black person question was removed. Within another 5 minutes the Mexican question was removed. However the white one remains after 3 days. Is there a double standard?

We always hear how dedicated the arab people are to their countries and causes. Yet there seems to be a major influx of Muslims migrating to western Europe in general. Is it because there is more opportunity for them outside of the Arab world?

I have a buddy who thinks that a woman's guard is more down at a coffee shop, since they don't expect to get hit on (his reasoning). Even though his track record proves him wrong (he has hooked up a handful of times at clubs/bars but zero times at a coffee shop as far as I know), he sticks to his guns. I say that the alcohol flowing in bars has been, is, and always will be the ultimate drug to bring a woman's guard down, make her more receptive to "hooking up." Coffee, on the other hand - not so much.

Also, over the past few years, my buddy can't seem to last much longer than 10pm or so, since he has a job that requires him to get up at 5am M-F. I think this is why he leans toward the coffee shop thing, but it still doesn't make sense to me.
