posts I used one racial slur for black people and one for Mexican people. Within 5 minutes the black person question was removed. Within another 5 minutes the Mexican question was removed. However the white one remains after 3 days. Is there a double standard?

You have a lot time on your hands to be spent on the Internet, pathetic.

It's just a matter of whether you got reported on a lot or not.
I'm white and I honestly don't feel that most of the "racial" terms for white people are all that offensive. Maybe the other white people who read your Q's feel the same way as I do and just didn't report.
Maybe you should find another hobby besides trying to prove double standards in Y!A and life. You'll be much happier in the long run.
Peace

It might be like the caveman commercial for Geico. A caveman is put down because it is generally believed that his intellectual capacity is not up to modern standards. The caveman goes to the therapist who says that she wouldn't be upset by a comment like that because it just couldn't be true for a person of her intellectual stature.

in the case of your questions, you probably had several people complaining about the minority slurs which resulted in yahoo taking action. The majority slurs were probably not flagged by anyone because nobody was really offended by them.

It's a sticks and stones kind of thing. If one is confident in himself and is comfortable with his place in the world, those words don't carry much weight.

However, for people who have been oppressed and belittled throughout their lifetime, those words sting and some may overreact to them.

It's an unfortunate situation, but it is not an indictment of yahoo censors, it is a reflection of our society in general.

We should all think about the results of your experiment. There is something fundamental to learn from your results.

Thanks for devising that experiment. It was instructive.

What an interesting social experiment! I love it.....I am very curious to see other answers.

Personally, I feel like it is more "socially" acceptable to make fun of certain groups more than others...ex. overweight people, Christians, southerners, white people. On the other hand it is not okay to say racial slurs against minorities and such. I believe that it is NEVER okay to make desparaging comments about anyone based on physicality. I also believe it is so wrong for the "N" word to be used in the black community. It is such a hate filled word and has roots in such ugliness.

Maybe people didnt report it as fast as they did the other questions. I do think that there is a double standard in general life though. Such as stand up comedians. Almost everyone makes fun of white people but when it gets turned around then all hell breaks loose. Im black and even I see that theres a problem with that.

The white ones just weren't "reported" as much. YOU do seem to have a problem with everyone. An equal opportunity hater? Try Jesus' love for you. That will cure your problem. Merry Christmas.

I believe white people have put this double standard on ourselves.
