That's what i look like, i have about 80% of white genes in me and about 20% black/hispanic, and i moved from Canada (a accepting country to people like me as far as i know to Norway, a Norse country.

I have experienced open racism here once, when the mother of my ex girlfriend made racial slurs about me, but other then that, nothing.
But i know that there are a LOT of white supremacists and Neo-Nazis here in Norway, and in Europe in general.

So i dont really feel accepted at all, by stereotype of how someone in a race should be i am white, i play electric guitar, listen to Metal, i am inteligent and i have learned the white culture (even though i dont think that those things have anything to do with race!)

The point is, i would feel alienated anywhere in this world except for where i was born, in South America/Brazil.
I just dont really know what to do...
(no, i dont plan suicide)

Would it be ethical to pursue medical procedures to turn heterosexuals into gays?

Well, www.millionformarriage.org is a site where you can sign a petition to make same-sex marriages legal. I've signed it... have you? Be part of history.

I am a supporter of gay rights but something has always bugged me about how advocates talk about homosexuality. There is always a discussion about if homosexuality is "natural", I think we all know it is. My question refers not to if it is natural but rather if it is something that parents should have the right to change in their child (while in the womb). Because, as I see it, homosexuality is not something that is necessarily helpful to the human race in the evolutionary sense (which, I do not mean to offend anyone, but I think that kind of qualifies it as a "hindrance")...So, what argument is there advocating the outlawing of parents being able to keep their children (through gene therapy) from being homosexual?

I've heard that all human life originated from Africa. Is this proven, or is it just a theory? Is this a Biblical reference? (keep in mind i'm not religious so I wouldnt know)

You probably clicked on this just dying to call me a bigot. I am simply looking for understanding. Please do not think i dislike gay people i just have questions thats all

OK so any reasonable person knows that homosexuality is NOT a choice and that it is born into. That is established. However since (until very very recently with embryonic research) homosexuals will typically not reproduce because they arent attracted to the opposite sex. In evolutionary terms this could not be an advantage. Would it be fair to call homosexuality a birth defect in the same league as things like :

Male pattern baldness
A lazy eye
Third nipple

Obviously the IMPLICATIONS societally are much different but really they shouldn't be. Why can't we just look at homosexuality like baldness and is it OK to charaterize it in this way.

Jimi Hendrix was truly a legend. Considered the best guitarrist of all times. He was crazy, but incredibly talented, yet most black people dont seem to even know who he was. This guy should be a role model for any Black in this country, because he never accepted the idea that blacks have to act a certain way or like certain things. He is the best guitarrist that ever lived.

Do you ever wonder how people go their screen name? Does it ever make you shake your head?

I see people on here with names like SuperBrain or Englightened_One, In_The_Know or whatever and these people tend to ask really narrow-minded questions or serverely biased ones to say the least.

Most rail about stereotypes or generalizations, but are they allowed if they are possitive? If you say "Southern Hospitality" or "brilliant Greek architecture" or "flawless African diamonds" is it okay or taboo?

They knew the whites really meant to say "the place is mostly populated with whites so it's a good area?" Is it wrong to want to live in an area mostly populated by whites? I've heard that when someone says "it's a great place to raise a family" or "it's a good neighborhood/area," they are being politically correct. Is that true? What do whites have in mind when they say those things?

I just need an exchange of ideas

I don't have cable, and I remember tons of cartoons would come on in the afternoon for children to watch. I am now 18 years old, and why are there only afternoon cartoons on cable?? I just thought it would be nice if some kids could watch cartoons instead of having to spend a lot of time outside doing whatever it is that they/we do.

My best friend gets called an "Oreo" all the time, meaning she is black but "acts" white. This frustrates her and she always complains she's the only one who has this problem.

Think about it.
Gay, goy, liberal, conservative, Christian, atheist, agnostic, progressive, traditional, emo, goth, butch, TV, TG, TS etc etc etc.
Do you think people place labels more on themselves in order to fit in, or impose them on others in order to box others into groups.
I tend to suspect we label ourselves and then get offended when others use these labels to generalize when they are only going off the information we have given them.
What are you thoughts?

I understand what the civil war was about. I understand that slavery needed to end. I also understand that for some of us in the south, our grandfathers carried that flag. Not because of slavery but to protect their land. George Washington owned slaves. Should his pictures and statues be removed from public places because of it? Why can't it be understood as part of history instead of a racist statement? My neighbors have one on their porch. I'm telling you there have never been sweeter people, and they are good christians, NOT racists.
