Just wondering... black people have been here pretty long.. it's not like we immigrating form africa over here...I'm an American not an immigrant so stop call us Minorities

OMG now I feel like a Ditz.... Minority=the smaller part or number; a number, part, or amount forming less than half of the whole... I should know this from 3rd grade

Well black people are considered a minority in America Because...They're are less compared to White people(Majority) see I catch on fast

It's nice to hear a person who doesn't have a minority mentality. Blacks make up about 13% of the population, so I guess they must be considered a minority. I think that sometimes people use the term minority to get away with stuff and to become entitled to special previleges. Often you hear how minorities get free food, special places, etc.

Well it is true that minority means there are fewer numbers, but politically and economically speaking it also means who has the least amount of power. You can have a country with a greater number of blacks than whites and have the whites be the majority. (Its happened in Africa and India) So minority is a population size and power issue

On some of the other topics you get intelligent discussions. What's with Society and Culture. I would think people stuck in a rut are addicts. We all are addicted to something. What is that all about. A squeeky wheel needs oil. Maybe we could send some of these people over to Psychology or something or I'm going to have to go over their pretty quick. Minority means a small number. There are less black people in this country then white people, hence they are the minority.

black people should be called the majority because Africa has nearly a billion people. which is pretty much Europe and The United States population combined.

Dont care if the blacks are called minorities. All of us are humans. Just cause someone invented the term and someone began using it, it doesnt mean it's right. Let anybody call what they want. If they make use of the majority of their brain, then they would behave like proper humans and stop categorizing people.

I dislike the term. White people simply don't understand the struggle we face. They don't have to worry about racism and discrination we face everyday.

anyone who doesn't fall into the majority of a population is a minority. i would be considered a minority in africa. i just wish you guys would quit searching for reasons to complain.
