Liberals...It means liberals are insane...
When you stop eating meat, you start to see pretty colors, you lose weight and Jebus sends his personal messages directly to your malnourished brain...Eat beef...It keeps you from thinking you are a giant beetroot...

I would think that their against killing animals in the first place, but would go along with it if they didn't feel they could do anything agout it. They feel it might change the food options and actually affect to power of the food lobbies, maybe even eating habits of the public and get some power back to the people. We buy into the idea that a third party vote is a waste, but actually if we didn't then we might have a lot more say. It's a wasted vote in the long is run to sell out on whatever we believe for one election we sell the whole future, which we could probably run as well, if we cared and had the courage of our convictions. The founding fathers where ordinary citizens and made a whole government. Bear the pain for a little while to have more options in the long run. I think it's about time for a three of four party system that answers the wider variety of needs of a thinking public. Two candidates? They don't have to work for the vote, just trash each other and who lies the best. We could move to a party that delivers. More candidates and you might get a real choice. It's a risk worth taking. I don't think people even trust their own minds and what they think. You have to try different things if you want different results. The both parties put together I wouldn't want to go. You can't let them get away with this. There running a game on us. I want more disclosure, honesty in government and a big stick over their heads. All they understand is power. Let people lie to you until the cows come home. What a victim mentality. Talk about getting into a vicious circle.

In the sense of political beliefs or character, absolutely nothing. Adolf Hitler was rumored to be a vegetarian.

The meat industry is an enormous business, and politics can have a lot to do passing monopoly legislation or enforcing health codes and overseeing safety inspections.

I know people that are vegetarians for all sorts of reasons. Some don't like how the meat industry operates, some don't think animal meat is healthy, some are religious, and some believe that animals should not be bred and killed for food.

If you've never read a book called "Fast Food Nation", I'd recommend it.

actually it has a lot to do with politics. Mostly because the whole dairy and meat industry has a lot of endorsements and politics really behind it because it makes so much money. If there weren't politics behind those kinds of food steak would cost nearly 90 dollars a pound. These endorsements for meat and dairy is what makes the money. When you see those things that say milk builds strong bones...that advertisement is bought by the dairy industry, of course it's going to say that milk is good for you....to sell it and make more money. That drinking milk helps prevent osteoporosis...no, leading a sedentary lifestyle is what gives you osteoporosis. It has nothing to do with milk. LOL. It shouldn't be right that it costs less to buy a pound of meat than it does to buy a pound of raspberries. Hopefully that helped with your question

I have no idea. People like this tend to be extremely annoying. I once was on a school trip to London with a vegan, and he was a total *ssh*le to the waitstaff when we went out to eat.

I think it all has more to do with trying to impress people about how deep and committed they are without really doing much of anything significant. "You don't eat meat or animal products? Congratulations. You've just saved the world. Oh wait, you've affected nothing in the political dimension"

Politics to PETA associates and followers: Comparing human rights to that of animals. I am a vegetarian myself, and although I dont eat meat, I realize we wont have things like leather shoes, bags/purses, clothes and coats for cold weathers etc, if we couldnt kill and use these valuable animals for those purposes. I sometimes think the PETA organization is taking things too far.....

It's complicated, but a vegan would theoretically be less open to pressure from lobbyists for the fast food industry and the farm meat subsidies people.
They would also fare better with folks who are against killing animals for any reason.

Because soon, it will be against the law to kill animals and eat them. Just like so many other bans. Watch it happen within the next 100 years or so. This world is changing rediculously.

It has absolutely nothing to do with politics. It is a lifestyle, not a political set of beliefs.
