You're all heard the tired, "why would God let people become atheist, or gay, etc." But here's new (at least to me) reasoning.

Well, at least for atheists and agnostics. Atheists and agnostics become the way they do (often times) because religion (or certain religious people) repulses them. Other times, it is because they are thinking for themselves, and looking for the truth.

So God seriously punishes people who do not agree with the actions of the church or church goers, as well as those who only try to use reason and logic to solve problems/mysteries?

Atheists and agnostics often do not accept their beliefs with any malicious intent. Most times, it is the opposite. And God punishes them? (That's part of the reason I don't believe he exists - because he's backwards on a lot of important ideas)

If you don't believe in God that is fine but you so you/they feel the need to bash everyone that does. YOu are not going to make anyone unbelieve and I doubt you are looking to believe.

When I look at the teen and twenty-something generation of today, I see a lot of whiney, cry baby, spineless wussies who are going to drive our society into the freaking ground.

But I am wondering if the generation before mine thought the same thing about my generation.

How do you feel, what's usually or most likely your reaction when just a random stranger walks by with a smile on their face, says hello?

Just curious.

The whole modesty part of your religion really confuses me. I mean wouldn't it have been easier for the Qua'ran to talk about self control rather than covering up the problem?

"No flag", of "any" country, should "ever", be burned. It is a statement "of "who, "they" are". This is my true feeling and my "reason why. Whatever happened "to "hope? I believe our United States of America" Flag" represents "all". "Freedom", to live on this planet', without being abused by any human. Male or Female. ( Animals do not threaten humans. ) "Its, "Your flag", "of "your country"; or "nation" and "all"; "of "who", you are.

Has anyone ever gone to this? It's a leadership training camp, I believe. My friend signed us up in Key Club but I don't know what to expect.

I know other religious people and non-religion people get anxiety and depression around this time of year but do Jehovah's Witnesses - who don't celebrate any holiday get depressed this time of year, too? My husand's uncle is a Long standing JW and he committed suicide today. If you say yes - then please explain why. I used to get very depressed at this time but that's because I've always lived very far away from my family and I was lonely - and reminded of it with all the pictures of perfect families and everyone having plans and me being forced to face 'the day' alone. Why would JW person feel depressed BECAUSE of the holidays if they have Never celebrated those days?

me and my husband are christians. we have an 8 yr old son that is constantly having nightmares. he dont even sleep in his room no more due to this. i always thought maybe it was his imagination running wild with him UNTIL the other night. the other night he came in our room screaming and crying. i comforted him and sent him back to the couch. he got half way down the hall and started screaming again and running back to me. i got up and looked to see what was going , and i saw a huge tall black figure standing there in front of my son. i immediately called my mom to come and help me pray, and we did. why do you think this intity is tormenting my child???

PLEASE do not be sarcastic, this is real?

I am sooo tired and sad of seeing Hollywoods views on the working middle class and yes it makes us sad cause we might be just a little above poverty. How many of us STEAL from Peter to PAY Paul? I want to start HELPING AMERICA before helping other countries...I am able to COOK for 1600 I was executive chef for the military. I want to cook but have NO place to volunteer my skills to..so how do I find such a place to volunteer my skills at ? Can or does anyone know how I can start my own place of charity so that I can help AMERICA's working class families rather then donate to go outside the USA. I am sick and tired of our money leaving my paycheck to NOT help our debts but rather PAY outsiders. PLEASE let us feed our CHILDREN and KEEP our cities healthy..LET me KNOW I can travel to cook and get the ball rolling then can be recruit then go to the next place then recruit..WE need to take CARE of OUR own AMERICA. I am ready...for a REAL change thats not in words .. R U?? LET me know ..

While the majority of Americans believe in God - The majority of Australians do not. The Pope himself has called Australia the most unreligious country in the world (A fact I'm quite proud of).

So what are your views on death? A lot of people cite death as their greatest fear, even though they believe in an afterlife. I on the other hand (as an Athiest/Agnostic) believe this...

"Life is an adventure, death is just the next one."

Unlike religious folk who are sure of what comes next (heaven - depending of course on your religious denomination) I have no clue what comes after death, thats why for me theres nothing to fear.
