I know it's been asked before by others, but I didn't think the answers were reasoned well enough so here it is again. Basically, if God knows what you're going to do, then the entire course of time has been mapped out through causality. I prefer to think that God is just REALLY REALLY smart, but can't predict everything. Kind of like that Futurama where Bender talks to "god."

Well...for those that think that...does that mean we should just...stop teaching kids anything? Since garnering new knowledge is apparently indoctrination, we shouldn't teach our kids or take them to school, no? It's a scientific theory...just like gravity or how our bodies work, so does that mean we can't teach kids ANYTHING, since it's indoctrinating them by making them smarter? Also, for those that don't believe in science, I read that mathmatics is the appication of science...so does that mean that you don't have to learn math, if science is wrong? Damn...wish I stayed Christian then just for that....

Some things I have learned from children.......

1. A king size water bed holds enough water to fill a 2,000 sq. foot house four inches deep.

2. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.

3. A 3-year-old's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.

4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a superman cape. It is strong enough, however, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20x20 foot room.

5. You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When using the ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.

6. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.

7. When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh", it's already too late.

8. Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.

"There is no fundamental difference between man and the higher mammals in their mental faculties. . . .?

to translate it, "peoples brains are the same as animals, just superior"

proof, Jenie. A girl raised in captivity, could not learn language and did not even know what a smile was. There was also another boy found to be raised in the woods. Neither of these people were taught language so niether of them knew it, my point is, you would knot know what you know if you were never taught. If we hadnt of invented language we would not have words that we place meaning on, which emotions are derived from.
Nature or Nurture, well its nurture. You are physically the way you are, and the rest is taught

Exodus 8: 25 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land."

Exodus 9: 27 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. "This time I have sinned," he said to them. "The LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong. 28 Pray to the LORD, for we have had enough thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don't have to stay any longer."

Exodus 10: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these miraculous signs of mine among them 2 that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the LORD."

Matthew 16:18: And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The Catholic Church is the oldest 'denomination' of Christianity and is still around today, hence, the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

What church other than the Catholic Church could Jesus be talking about?

I'm not a Catholic, I was brought up a different 'denomination' and trying to discern things for myself. Thanks for your answers.

God Bless.
