that's what she said. i asked her ' what, were you walking along and slipped on a banana peel, and while trying to catch yourself you accidentally logged into my account, typed in my password , and then clicked on inbox all before you hit the floor?"
So, i know that there are some "fantastic" and "supernatural" things going on here in r/s, but has anyone here ever "accidentally" read someone else's e-mail?

I have accidentally read other people's email.

While in college, a buddy and I used to be lab partners for a programming class. He allowed me access to his account (not a good move). While working on a project, I forgot on whose account I was. I was notified by the computer that I had an email, so I went to see what it was. It was not for me. It was for him. It was nothing personal, but still, I felt stupid.

I created an yahoo account for my brother before he went to Iraq. I would log in every once in a while to clean up his folders (he had lots of junk mail). I have several email accounts from different companies/providers, and sometimes I would forget that I was in his account.More than once, I would click on the first unread email.

No, but I almost succumbed to hooking up my departed husbands' computer that we had never used. I know that he had old email that would have been easy enough to access and would have included email from his former girlfriend. I decided I did not want to know if they continued after we were committed. He could be very jealous, and I actually ended up on the floor laughing over his jealousy of a ex-boyfriend of mine.....from ninth grade! I was amused by his insatiable appetite for every detail of my past. I told him he was just mad that I had more fun than he did.

Have had situations like cheney described...when one daughter and her hubby are visiting, they eventually gravitate to the comps to check their e-mail to see if a reply was made for one thing or another...more often then not, they stay logged in...then, not paying attention when I would go to on-line, I would e-mail "myself" a link or save to favorites to a certain site I wanted to check out more in depth later, click on "e-mail me" at certain sites that we all belong to so e-mail info isn't asked, go to answers and, well, usually that's when I realize I am suddenly sporting a male avatar or faced with one of my 2 daughter's avatars! LOL :)

Have to say, my children get some pretty INTERESTING mail!!! Was quite disconcerted to see that son-in-law (when I realized it was HIS mail) had subject lines from ....well....let's just say that I was relieved when a few days later he was complaining about getting certain kinds of e-mail and wondering where they were coming from! (whew!) :)

LOL...but, have to say, SOME of the e-mail they get may be my fault because tracking cookies may have noticed I saved certain sites on favorites of one or the other and sent them e-mail....ummmm... I do a LOT of research to various Christian, Atheist, Pagan, Occult, Psychological, Abuse, etc. sites! :) Oh well! :)

no, i haven't.

i'm a firm believer in everyones right to privacy.

when i was a kid my mom would go through my stuff all the time, and now my sister does that to her kids. i just think that is so wrong.

i would get very upset if someone was reading my mail or e-mail. we would definitely have words...

yes it is not a lie actually what happened was that there are too many people on the yahoo network and this is reducing their resources so they want to know people that are still using their yahoo account and the least is not 20 people it is 10 people

I'm with Sherl - we all should have our privacy. I don't read anyone else's mail, e-mail, diary or whatever. I get really pissed when my husband opens and reads my mail. It's nothing that I wouldn't tell him anyway, it's just MINE first!
