Yes, I agree with the idea. In fact, I suggested it to Yahoo.
There should also be a separate section for atheists, Protestants, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and perhaps other religions. The present section could be retained ‘as is’ for those who would like to interact or debate with other groups.
It have noted the fact that there are many times people want their questions to be answered by people from their own religious group. As it is right now, members can butt in and interfere.
There are 1.2 billion Roman Catholics out there excluding Orthodox Catholics, Anglicans, Episcopalians, etc. It makes good business sense for YA to do this because there is no interactive site, which can offer this kind of service right now.
To control people who might masquerade as Catholics, we can have an 'accreditation system' so that those who will answer questions in that section have the experience, training and spirituality to answer questions authoritatively. In fact, it might be a good idea for Catholics to 'manage' that section. Other groups can do the same thing.
If we want peace in the world, peace must begin with us and right here on Yahoo Answers!

But isn't this better?
An open place where we can all talk and ask each other questions?
I want to know about you and your beliefs. I sometimes want to know why you people think this or that way. Other times I want to show you why I think this or that way.
If it's just a bunch of me's in the room then we're all just agreeing with ourselves.
Of course one of the me's in the room would decide to commit a homicide, and then we'd spend the rest of the night trying to figure out which me did it.
*whispers* I suspect it's the one with the barrette in her hair...

My spiritual thoughts are mine alone, but I think they are just as valid as all the others. So I want my section too. ;) I suppose there still would be debate, but lots of amens listed after each question would get a bit dull.

I think it's pointless. R&S is good enough for any religion or lack thereof.
If you don't like your beliefs being challenged, go to a different site with members of your own religion.

Why don't they give each society, race and culture its own section? Hey, why don't we take it a step further and divide people by religion in real life?
No.

because they'd rather see us amuse ourselves in the one great big melting pot.
Hey, atheists aren't religious, from what I hear on here. So why don't we just spread the love around to them too? I'm sure they'll appreciate being loved.

Not enough space on the internet for the thousands of competing "true and only" religions.

Well, thanks for the kiss, Meg. :)
I think it's because A) There are tons of religions, and B) A lot of people would ignore questions that aren't listen under their religion, and it would hurt the answering process.

Then how would we learn anything about each other?
And atheists and Christians would still troll each other's sections.
