I don't think it's possible.

You have active PRO and active ANTI

What Christians need to do, however, is become more pragmatic and logical. That is the ONLY way to win in the Supreme Court.

You need, for example, to trounce the ATheists at their own game.

You can't get CREATIONISM taught in schools, but it might be possible to get EVOLTION thrown out of everything below AP Biology in 12th grade.

You have to be pragmatic and logical. Evolution has changed DRASTICALLY since the SCOPES trial and that means KIDS WERE TAUGHT WRONG for years.

You have to get the Supreme Court to CEASE any educational method that is UNPROVEN and VACILLATORY.

That is AP and College level only.

It is NOT fit for PRIMARY grades 1-8.

You attack it logically and you CAN get EVOLUTION thrown out of the schools

You will NOT, however, get CREATIONSIM put back into the schools.

This is a big folly with the religious.

What you want to do is DEFEAT the Atheists.

YOu want to reach a balance or null point.

You want to convice the Supreme Court ONLY science that can be proven with Litmus Paper should be allowed.

This is a war and the MAJORITY Chrisitans are NOT doing it correctly.

The object is NOT to get you way to be BLOCK them from getting THEIR WAY.

You let 4% dictate what is taught in schools and you, the 80% majority have FAILED DISMALLY and should be ashamed of yourselves.

The idea is to GIVE UP your ambitions and DEFEATE theirs.

Getting Evolution KICKED out of grades 1-8 and even 9-11 would be an accomplishment.

THAT would equal truce. We'd be on common ground. NEITHER would have say anymore.

You want to reach a truce, force it.

They are on top with 4%, knock them into the ground.

DOn'T EVEN TRY to come up on top.

Just KNOCK THEM INTO THE GROUND.

Then you become equal.

You keep Richard Dawkins GOD DELUSION out of the LIBRARY and they keep the BIBLE out of the library.

It becomes equal.

Null

That is a default truce.

No, there can be no truce, because neither side will shutup. Christians can't because we are called on to spread the work of Christ. Atheists won't because they have unresolved issues. But, that's okay. I have seen atheists brought to Christianity, so you are wrong when you say no atheist will become a Christian. I have never seen, but I have heard of Christians becomming atheists. So, certainly there is a down side to the discussion. Still, I believe Christians get farterh with atheists than atheists do with Christians, because we have someting wonderful to offer that will make a person's life so much more. What do atheists offer?

I'll try it! By the way, I made a rude comment on here a few days back and I really want to say I'm sorry to the person who posted the question as well as all the people who read what I put.. I'm up for a truce!!!!

Not very likely. Those core beliefs are how people make sense of the world. If those beliefs are attacked that person has a lot on stake. So defense is the only option to protect your world view whether right or wrong. A truce is only possible if those opposing beliefs are never brought up.

A christian and Athiest can never call a truce unless they really don't hold strong beliefs. the two belief systems are diometrically opposite.

No way. It is un-american to be an atheist. Early settlers survived harsh conditions like starvation.blizzards.wars,droughts.epidemics.etc. by praying to God for help. The ones who did not pray had the worst fatality rates. Why should we copy an inferior plan. As a result of this testing our heritage is based on christian truth. Why rebel from that now and risk perishing. We have a lot to offer the world. Do you want to stop doing that because you don't want God to help us anymore? It doesn't make sense to me. It is God's creativity that keeps giving us new ideas to solve the world's problems(which I think are created by atheists-heh,heh) lol

"NO athiest will become a christian, and NO christian will become a athiest "

Most atheists were Christians and the rare atheist becomes a Christian. There is no such thing as a real or fake atheist. You are or are not. We aren't ashamed of an atheist who becomes a believer.

They actually can, but it cannot be done instantly.

Actually, it's just all boils down to RESPECTING SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION.

You see, I could hate strawberry ice cream and I could have a friend who loves strawberry ice cream. I could love chocolate ice cream and my friend can hate it. But still, we can go to the same ice cream shop together and she can eat her/his strawberry ice cream in front of me while I eat my chocolate ice cream, and we wouldn't bother to look at each other with disgust because we don't agree in the flavors we choose.

They can start a truce. All that is needed is RESPECT.
Each individual has their own ideas and opinions, and we need to just live with it.

Hope this helps. =)

I'm happy with just - 'Stop the infiltration of education' by the nutter wing of the Christian and Muslim Fundies. In other words stop trying to destroy science.

I like sitting in the middle. Some atheists are cool, along with some christians. You have extremists on both sides. Take these peoples opinions with a grian of salt....they dont matter anyway.
