In simple terms, a liberal approach would suggest an openess for interpretation and understanding of scripture as analogy, myth, etc whereas a literalist (or fundamentalist) would see scripture as the literal recording of historical events. Can anyone shed further light/ explain a conservative approach as somewhere in between the two?

people say that one should prepare for moksha ie libration from birth and death in this life and to meet with the God. also people said that God is inside you.then what is the purpose of God to be inside a human body which does not has any significance.God is inside you and he does everything as said in Geeta then what is the purpose of the God in staying in the body.

If a person has to take a bath or wash his face at one occasion only for each day, is it better to take a bath after sleeping before going for school, work or other routine activities, and wash the face before sleeping, or vice versa. Of course, if there is enough time and water, a person can do this in unlimited manner and without any routine schedule.

Recently Shilpa Shetty was treated very badly in the show "BIG BROTHERS" & many other indians face the same situation who go in foreign countries to earn their living.. But they never raise any voice against such discrimination..

I hear this term often by people who dislike gays and tend to generalize and stereotype the GLBT community. But when I look around at everything I do in life I can't see much that could describe my entire life as a "gay lifestyle".Pretty much everything I do is exactly the same as what any other person does in life. The only exceptions might be that my spouse is a man and I occasionally attend gay festivals and events.

But that to me is no different then someone who is Irish attending a St. Patrick's Day parade or any other celebration or event that celebrates community pride or achievement. But beyond that my life is pretty basic and comparable to my family and neighbors.

Some might say because I am part of a community that is seeking to change laws and so forth. But I would say that I am part of a community that just wants equality the same as many other groups that have been historically mistreated and denied rights. But that is not the core of my life.My life is pretty basic.

You know that image of a girl with a little cloud of rain just above her - well that is me. Murphy's law is the little bugger on my shoulder. I'm always prepared for things that can go wrong, but it seems that he always outwit me. I'm not a supersticious person but recently removed peacock feathers from my home and are now very aware of things like a black cat and so on. Please give some advice.

I find myself squinting at the screen like an old woman trying to decipher what has been written. It takes 1 second more to write 'you' instead of 'u'.

Am I getting old and should we put up with the destruction of our beautiful language, or are there just too many lazy people out there?

I am sharing a poem I wrote... ANY feedback is welcome.

when i stop thinking, everything makes sense

whole, complete, persona of divinity, bleeding apes of infinity
strapped to the boards preceeding the new rape of malignity
burden of truth not truth not betrayal
betrayal nonfiction nonsense, it is burial
language deception, birthed of fiery angels in witness
information, particular, insomnia, magnification

There is some family resemblance among members of a group that you can generalize to a certain degree, and thus can be said to be true. So it's wrong to dismiss all stereotypes as bullshit. On the other hand, some stereotypes are far from reality, and they are used simply to offend others. You can dismiss these stereotypes as false. Do you agree?

I am just curious, is all. Weren't they FORCED to do that in the civil rights days of the 60's? Why do they do that willingly when they don't even have to these days?

I myself have to admit that I am going through some tough times right now. I have thought about PRAYING but since I am very confused spiritually about whether there's a God, how he manifests himself, whether or not Christ is the son of God etc.... I feel kinda funny praying.

After all, how can someone who is agnostic and confused expect a God who you basically are saying "well, if you're there, I hope you hear my prayers" to be there for you?

This whole thing is driving me nuts. I mean, I spend most of my waking hours in a state of confusion over issues like this. Sure... I'm probably suffering from depression and maybe a little SAD (seasonal affective disorder) because of the short winter days but believe me, I have had these issues for a long time and am reaching out for help.

Is it OK for an agnostic to pray to God even if he's not sure he's there? Would it be wrong for me to even try unless I just wake up one day, and through blind faith say... "OK, I guess I'll believe" ... and then start praying?

In closing... I am looking to find if there's a God and try and develop some kind of relationship with him and just wanted to know if there are any prayers for people in the same boat as myself.

Thank You

DAVID
