I am just curious, is all. Weren't they FORCED to do that in the civil rights days of the 60's? Why do they do that willingly when they don't even have to these days?

I don't even know why I'm answering this question, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're not just being ignorant/stupid. The back of the bus is generally calmer, especially when you have a long trip, because you don't have 8 million people walking past you.
However, think about yourself for a minute. Can you honestly say that this is a real trend every bus trip you take? Are there 20 black people on the bus and 3 white people... who all happen to be at the front? Is it possible that the white people tend to sit at the front because they don't want to feel surrounded and have easy access to the door? Think beyond your stereotypes sometimes.

It's called freedom. Knowing that you can, if you want to, is what freedom is all about. Maybe they sit at the back now in order to be able to see who gets on the bus easier. The view from the back is so much better than from the front. But, I think it's just simply that they can sit wherever they WANT to. <*)))><

This is outdated discrimination and injustice. The mature humanity today realize that all human beings are equal and must be treated with mutual love and respect. All people, black and white, must learn about the truth that we are rational beings, who are nobler than any other creatures in the universe. Yes, we will leave behind all the prejudices of childhood and start acting as mature adults.

It's just more comfortable and you don't have to sit next to annoying old handicapped people in the front

Because the bus driver is seen as an authority figure and there is a very good chance that they are up to no good so they sit as far away from the bus driver as possible.
