i don't think we are overly interesting or entertaining we are not imaginary nor do we perform parlor tricks.
I am Pecti-Witan (aka Hedge Witch, not Wiccan) a "solitary" practitioner of "the Old Religion", and have been for many, many years. Being a "Witch" is nothing like what is portrayed in movies or on Television. There is nothing flashy about it. we are fairly simple people with "abilities" that everyone has, ours are just honed and utilized. Lots of research and practice. There is a lot to learn when you are dealing with herbal, mineral and candle magick.
I do read tarot cards, rune stones and utilize a number of other "fortune telling" tools but would NEVER charge anyone for anything I do! Besides, I do not do "readings" or "cast spells" for others on demand. That sounds more like a carnival ruse or a con!
I believe that this is not my first life (nor the last) as a witch. I have always had a deep respect for nature and have an innate ability to communicate with animals.
You also have to have a thick skin, because even in this "advanced" civilization there are still those who believe we worship the devil (LMAO), and would rather turn a blind eye to the world around them. Some will even admit that they think we should be burned at the stake! Ignorance knows no bounds.
I hope you find the answers you were looking for.
Bright Blessings

I know that we are diverse - there are British Traditionals (Wiccans), and hedge-witches, and heritage Witches, and so on.
I know that we are all over, but concentrated in the U.S. and the United Kingdom. I know that we are frequently misrepresented and lied about.
I know that many of us have formed organizations for networking and recognition and the conferring of clergy status, like Covenant of the Goddess (CoG - see below).
I know that we are essentially peaceful people who don't wish to convert anyone, that we don't "worship the devil" or make child or animal sacrifices, and that there is no grand high master or dogma involved in our religion or practice. I know that we honor the Female face of the Divine as well as (or rather than) the Male.
I know that we celebrate life, in it's diversity and splendor.

Historically, witches were people (mainly women) who long time ago were accused for performing magic. But in reality, they were just plain women that did no such thing. There were many ways to prove if the women was a witch. But these test usually ended in the death of these women

Watch the movie, 'Practical Magic'. It's cute.
Why the thumbs down? OMG. Are you guys serious?? Maybe we're all 'witches' in our cute little way--depending on how good or bad we use our 'craft'!
