I asked many german fellows, the most of them are avoiding such horrorfilms. The stupid porno films are perhaps placed in the Moviecharts category at all video rentals here, before the horror genre.

I argued them and said that the italian filmmakers have mostly a strong tradition of slaughter Horrors...but you all do not have it !

We are just living in the country that has no good filmtraditions.

Is religion is a choice, in the same way that other beliefs are choices? For example, if I chose to subscribe to the moral belief that removing one's clothes was wrong, I wouldn't expect the Chippendales to make any special dispensation for me should I choose to work for them. Similarly, if religion is a choice, I wouldn't expect any special dispensation for wearing religious icons which do not conform to a company's uniform policy. I either have to give up my religion of choice, or work somewhere else.

Or is religion is more of a psychological and visceral calling? If, for example, I was blind, I would expect employers to do everything in their power to adapt to me. I could not stop being blind. Is religion more similar to this - You can't 'physically' stop believing?

Or is it the latter, but still fine to discriminate, just I would be discriminated against if I had an unshakeable belief that all women were evil?

Or is it something else altogether?

This question is for ADULTS only. I live in a very cold place and need to bundle up when walking to school or work. What kind of hat can I wear that is NOT formal, warm, and will make women appreciate me? Most young men here wear those run of the mill toques or balaclavas but they are not warm enough.

In a lot of debates here and elsewhere about the existence or otherwise of a God or Gods, people refer to the need for evidence to support or refute either side of the argument. However, one of the biggest differences between the two sides seems to be what they regard as the necessary features that "evidence" has to posess in order to be valid, relevant, and ultimately persuasive.

Personally, the main essential features of evidence that immediately spring to mind are:
- transparency
- repeatability / replicability
- the capacity to lend support to a theory with predictive power and
- objectivity (though this is partly encompassed by transparency; also see below).

An interesting argument that I have read this evening (at http://www.carm.org/atheism.htm), however, is that evidence can never be viewed objectively. Our assessment of any given piece of evidence will be influenced by our prexisting "emotions and prejudices".

There is a person who sits next to me at work who constantly moves his thighs in and out to the point where his whole self is moving.

I find it annoying because you can hear his pant legs shuffling but it is also distracting as I can see him moving from the corner of my eye. I just wish the bastard would sit still like everyone else.

Is he masturbating or does he simply not realise what he is doing?

This is a relatively recent occurrance which has me perplexed.

Thanks

I always worry about my family dying.
I'd rather die than them.
It makes me cry sometimes.
Today is my birthday, and instead of being happy when I woke up, I cried because my parents are also getting older.
I love them so much, and I don't want to lose them because I feel that I would die.
I know no one is prepared for the death of a love one, but is there a way I can be more positive about life and death?
By the way, I'm christian. Not to be mean, but I don't seek answers from atheists because their answers are of no use to me. I'd like an answer from someone who believes in God, please. Thank you :)

I don't see how it is considered selfish. It isn't physically hurting anyone else. Usually, a person considering it will be missed for about a couple of months and then forgot about just like any other person who passes away...It doesn't matter how they go, they are still gone either way. In my opinion, some people are just better off not being here (ex. someone who constantly makes mistakes in life, someone who puts a burden on others-financially, emotionally..whatever. someone who just feels that they are worthless and not contributing anything positive to society) They don't need to be here, they are just taking up space.....SO, why is suicide selfish?

I am a christian and I used to go to a very good church that I absolutely loved but we relocated and it seems every church I have been to since has not been for me. I've gotten nothing from these churches. I was wondering if I am going to go to hell just because I don't attend church.

okay, with the vandertramp verbs...for verbs like parti and descendu, do you add an s for the plural subjects? i've never seen that but i'm clueless...it wouldn't be nous sommes descendus, right? and what if i'm talking about the girls? do i still have to add an extra e for -re and -ir verbs? **confused** :D

I have been talking to a Budist girl on here and she has been saying Budist prayers and meditation for me. I am a christian and was attacked by demons last night, in which I started to lebitate of my bed, and i was frightend. No people I do not take drugs, drink or hallucinate. I ended up rebuking them in the name of Jesus, and when I did my voice was very soft, as they(demons)try do silence me. As soon as a said Jesus, Jesus etc they left. Is this persons Budist prayers opening the door for Satan to come in? I just spoke to a pastor and she said yes it can, and to anoint my house with oil in the name of Jesus.

I just heard that Jews and some Christians believe this theory. With our current science we know that stars are over 6,000 lightyears away but we can still see them. So, with common sense we can tell that the world is over 6,000 at least or there would be no stars in the sky.
