I always worry about my family dying.
I'd rather die than them.
It makes me cry sometimes.
Today is my birthday, and instead of being happy when I woke up, I cried because my parents are also getting older.
I love them so much, and I don't want to lose them because I feel that I would die.
I know no one is prepared for the death of a love one, but is there a way I can be more positive about life and death?
By the way, I'm christian. Not to be mean, but I don't seek answers from atheists because their answers are of no use to me. I'd like an answer from someone who believes in God, please. Thank you :)

It's not relevant that you don't want answers from atheists - we may still have the best answer. For a start, your position makes no sense as a Christian. If a loved one dies and goes to heaven, who are you weeping for? It can only be yourself. That isn't very Christian. Perhaps it's time to think about life, not death. Atheists know this is all we get. That's why it's important to cherish every moment - with family, friends, and ourselves. Spend the day after your birthday making your family know how important they are to you. You shouldn't seek to be optimistic about death, because it's death. But what possible excuse have you got not to be optimistic about life?

Your answer to the question "What would Jesus do?" is, presumably, to respond to a sympathetic answer encouraging a broadly "Christian" ideal with a childish insult. Personally, I don't think he'd have done that.

I hope you recover some peace of mind regardless.

Your e-mail isn't working.

The Lord be with you and bless you. Your heart is so beautiful - filled with love and compassion. Truly you are your own best gift on this natal celebration.
One of the synonyms for death is "rest". You know how thankful you are for a "rest" after a long, hard go. As such, death is a blessing for those who suffer, are unable to appreciate/sense life, have completed their task.
Another view is that death brings us closer to Jesus - a blessing which we confess, but are sometimes afraid to welcome because we know here and now so much better. Imagine your parents or whomever being able to actually see Jesus, talk with Jesus. It would be like having an overseas penpal and then one glorious day, actually being able to enjoy a pizza and a chat with them.
Next - death, though unwelcome, serves as a potent reminder that our days are limited. We are to use them wisely.
Finally - death, while fearsome, is already defeated. Jesus went first and Revelation promises that death itself shall one day die. In short, thanks to Jesus - We have already Won.

Again - happy birthday.

When you know what is waiting on the other side and know what a much better place it is, it makes it easy to be optimistic. It is always hard to lose the ones you love because you miss them so much but knowing they are in a better place helps. Knowing that you will one day be with them again helps. Death comes to us at different ages so we have to appreciate what we have today.

Because death is only a beginning.

After death one may receive salvation from condemnation and all the bad things in this world shall be no more for the deceased. The grief and mourning caused by death is also a worldly trait that is not a part of perfection. Though even Jesus wept, it was not because Lazarus had died but because He had become overwhelmed with the grief of the crowd, because human emotion is somewhat contagious.

I think you should talk to a family member or even a counselor about this. It is very important that you understand that death is a part of life. It is some thing that is going to happen weather you want it to or not.

optimistic is the only way to feel about it - life and death are just a cycle, a dance, like light and shadow - neither lasts forever, but both are eternal --- as far as losing your parents : learn to let go of the things you are afraid to lose; it is only without fear can we learn to appreciate, and love, the many cycles of life

You need to see a therapist if your birthday makes you cry b/c your parents will die one day. Seriously

You have some guilt or abandonment issues or something. 100 years ago, people died at home and everyone was used to it. Now we are so sheltered from it, that it's a shock. People have died as long as there have been humans and the survivors moved on

By being pessimistic about life.

Excuses are for the weak

Meth abusing parents
Abused physically, psychologically, emotionally
Stage 5 hard crusted acne over 80% of my face for 3 years
Severe acne scars that I spent 10,000 to get to mild
3 years of clinical depression

Still tickin'

My mum died when I was five and I am looking forward to meeting her in heaven and getting to know her. It is only a temporary break if you all go to heaven and the being together part is for eternity so looking at it that way helps for me.
