I'm not stupid, I know! I watched one of those disgusting movies with two guys doing the nasty in it at my friend Charlene's house last thursday and when they went in for a closeup on the hiney area, it grossed me out so much that I threw up, and it had nothing to do with the half a wine cooler I had drank, either. No wonder it's an abomination and a sin, just ask my big brother, Maurice, he's smart and knows everything!

As someone who used to be a theist and decided that it wasn't right for me, I still sort of wonder why people believe in theism. I'm not saying it's wrong to believe in God, jsut wondering why you do.

A while ago I asked this question sort of out of hostility, but this time, make no mistake, this is NOT patronizing you're faith, simply asking you why you believe in it.

The one thing I don't want is people to defend God rather than explain the reason for believing in him. There is a difference, and a lot of the hardcore religious people don't seem to understand that.

If you suddenly feel as if you have to defend you're beliefs, just don't bother, becasue you aren't answering the question and I'll jsut get it deleted and report you for abuse for spamming the question.

I understand how liberals cannot believe in intelligent design, after they look at themselves in the mirror everyday.

They believe in intelligence, but not that it is all summed up into an intelligently designed program.

Why does the Earth and universe follow any laws of gravity or laws of thermodynamics etc? Who told anything to follow rules? Who tells a cell to perform its functions on its own?

Yeah......exactly!

We all know that India is the country with the majority of the population are believers of god.Great Budddha was born here,Lord Krishna,Rama were born here.Adhi shankara,Gurunanak,etc..and so many saints were born.Even today we have great saints and sadhus living in India.Inspite of this Gd belief and adoption of dharma,India is still the underdogs among the developed nations. We have highest poverty rate, highest illiteracy, very low per capita income, strong hold of athiesm among some sections of the society and so many contradictory things..Why so?

Alright, you have freewill to choose. Who makes choice? The individual. How? He uses his thoughts. Where do his thoughts come from? From society. How does he control what information he receives and has access to? He just does. A man can choose to read a book but what if he was a precolonial slave? Then he doesn't; freewill is limited. Then when is a person accountable for his sins? When he knows the difference from right and wrong. What is the difference between right and wrong? It says in the Bible. How does a man choose to have faith in the Bible? He just does. Can that choice be limited since freewill is limited? No, he has enough freewill. Well it's obvious that there are reasons to have faith...obedience, inspiration...does an individual choose what inspires him? Sure. How? He just does. I have a banana - can you choose to be inspired by it? Not really. Aren't you judging based on past experiences? I guess. How do you choose what you remember? I just do. Because of freewill? Yes.

Here are a few hints: In Washington D.C. the city streets and buildings are aligned with the cosmic stars. The federal triangle, which involves the three most important buildings in DC makes up more than meets the eye too. If one draws a line between each of the buildings an imaginary triangle can be drawn. Looking skyward in the night from within that triangle while in DC encompasses one of the twelve horoscopes. This too is America's Goddess. Additionally, this Goddess resides in NY too. She had a rather "cutting edge" air worthy craft named after her. The American's named a University after her. DC itself is named after her. :)

On this planet is one constant amount of water. If there is a lot of water on one place, there is less water on another place. But the amount of water on earth is a constant one.

Could it be true that this same concept can be applied to religion? That our planet has one constant amount of faith? Is the reason we have religious fundamentalists, because there are atheists like me?

Well, I had this friend who was one, and decided to go to one of her "witch parties" with her, and everybody was really nice, and I never would have guessed our music teacher would be there, and all we did was listen to some music, eat some stuff, dance, nothing out of the ordinary, right? Wrong! they cast some kind of demonic spell on me because exactly 16 days later the cute guy who leads our church youth group asked me out and that was a month ago and now I'm pregnant! And God would not want ne to be pregnant at thirteen, not again, and after the first time when I prayed and prayed to him to take the baby away, and he did, right out into the toilet at school, and I was so sick, so He would never allow me to get pregnant again so it must have been some kind of evil, demonic witchcraft spell they put on me through the music and the food, right? I'm not stupid! I'm not stupid.

Lets say, you find out that ur religion's God is wrong and the God who appears happen to be exactly as depicted as in another religion. Will you convert? I mean the expected ans is all god is the same god. But my question is different. Im talking bout how God was described in the different religions and the concepts...the concepts and description of God's words and missions are different in different religions...so in other words im asking you, is religion more important to u, or God more important to u?

I was raised as a Christian and up until I was about 22 I had faith, went to church and believed. Somewhere along the line I just lost it. No matter how hard I try, I feel nothing. When I go to church, cause I still do, (for weddings and such) I sit and think how fake this all is and its a big false way to live. How I feel sorry for the people that truly think they believe because its all nothing.
I know the non believers will say ''because there is no God'' or something like that but thats not what I am looking for. How do I reconnect? I feel like its Santa Claus. I feel that there cant possibly be a creator and that the bible stories are just stories. I have a good life. I feel ungrateful, how can I reconvince myself. I have to believe in something but its impossible. Im not a bad person and no I dont believe some force has taken over me. I just dont understand how it can all possibly work. Am I an Atheist? An agnostic? I feel no comfort in religion.

It is worth mentioning that Jordan has witnessed four major corruption cases since 1990 in which hundreds of millions of dollars WERE/WAS embezzled.
Independent statistics have shown that 148 billion dollars HAS/HAVE been stolen.
I studied in Grammer that expressions of money take singular verbs, but it seems unnatural. Then again I am not a native speaker of English, so what is the correct form ?

I'm guessing that if you don't believe in Evolution, you believe in Creationism, but let me ask you a question: Isn't it possible for the two beliefs to co-exist? I mean is it feasible that God/Allah/Vishnu/etc decided just to kick the Universe and Life off, and then kinda let things take course, you know? What do you think about the possibility of this "distant" version of your Supreme Being?

ps. If I'm being rude, please let me know. This question is asked with all due respect.
