In my opinion India is a Powerful Nation. I believe there is nothing like being a "super power" since there are no set rules for any country to proclaim itself as the one. It's a hype created by some countries based on their success on certain fronts, most importantly for them including arms and ammunition they possess, nuclear bombs they can produce and the money they have in their banks as "foreign exchange". If this is the criteria for being a super power , I am sorry I do not agree with you.

India has the oldest civilization on the face of this earth. It has a rich heritage of culture, languages, literature, architecture, and today it stands in the front row of countries who have developed themselves in science and technology. India has produced best of scientists, economists, entrepreneurs and technocrats in every imaginable field. India produces best of human resource for the entire world community. India has a great population comprising several religions who have lived together in peace and harmony for centuries, despite of a low per capita income, unlikely to happen in any other country of the world.

I can count so much more here about India but if you insist to look only at the population.. the poverty.. or illiteracy, I would suggest you to find out the facts and figures. Do you know the exact literacy rate of the so called 'super power' today? Do you know the exact rate of poverty in that special country? Nobody cares to look at such figures about them. Believe me it is higher than in India in terms of percentage. The UN and WHO reports prove it. You can explore all figures on their websites. The higher per capita income in that special country is only based on the 'income' of their individuals. It does not take into consideration the fact that how much an individual is under debt of the banks.

India is "Super" in so many respects that no other country comes even close to it. So start feeling proud from today that India is a super power in the true sense.

Cheers !!

My dear friend, it is a perception.

God wants India to be the Super Power on its own way. Spiritually. Not materialistically. If you are a true believer of God, you will not ask this question at all. The whole world is running after materialistic comforts and worldly matters. Do you think that is what they are all satisfied with? If so, they will not come to India for mental and inner peace.

Millions of humans around the world are reading about Yoga and Meditation today at this precise moment to understand and to bring some sort of balance to their lives. Million others are following and Thousands are commercialising these age old traditions of India to make a living.

So, if you take materialistic measurement, indirectly India is contributing to so much wealth generation and is again with its spirituality is showing a way to the world as a Super Power.

Becoming a Super Power and being the land of great spiritual leaders are not connected issues. To be a super Power India has all the potentialities but due to poor governance and lack of policy formulation to deal with terrorism, drug trafficking, secessionist movements, and divisive forces the country is wasting its resources. Given a visionary leadership India will soon emerge as a Super Power.

for some india has changed, for some its changing and developing and for many its still a poor and third world country.
Its all about perception. indians are the most spritual pepole in the world that"s right my friend. but india is a big, populated and relatievly new independent nation as per its size. Its on a right track democracy and independence as imp characterstics.
have some patience, and you will realize "india as superpower" is not a mere dream or perception but a fact, reality.

if you can then do contribute in your own way.
All the best.

It relates to the language.

Language is in essence the framework by which the brain operates, (it's operating system) and the english language is a superior one for leading to the technological advances that have elevated its speakers to the forefront of world powers. Once more of the population speaks english, they'll catch up.

Also, the amount of people living in slums is too high of a percentage and amounts to dead weight in a country's pursuit of superpower status. It almost can't be corrected short of a major revolution or plague.

The police was drunk. He asked him for 3000 Rupees 1000 for him 500 for the other man and 1500 for fine. If this continuse india will curupt.

You need a war, go win a war agianst the chinese then steal from them (call it booty)

Super power comes from military........ historically speaking

I spent a few weeks in India this past summer, and was shocked at the differences in class....... there are wealthy and poor..... hardly a middle class.......
I say police the rich....... make them pay more....

poverty is a good nurturer of enlightenment,,,,, look at America.... we have none here..... no saints or even decent teachers,,,, we come there or to tibet to learn enlightenment,,,,,,lol

Hi.. Let me help you understanding the reason.. Yes.. India is a country with maximum number of Gods. and they all have truely helped us.. But.. what I believe.. for success. you need both Karma and Dharma.. Indians have been doing excellent job at Dharma.. but when it comes to Karma. we fail.. God himself said "You do and I will be always with you" but, i observed that most of times, if we fail, we do not take time to understand the reason which will help us improve.. but we just get away saying "Yeh.. hamari kismat main he nahi tha - it was not for us".. That attitude just piles up day by day and we all became like that only.. okie.. they say.. corruption is a problem.. unemployment.. law n order.. Govt.. I say "NO" this is not the problem.. problem is somewhere within us..we failed to understand.. whatif we all decide that we will accomplish our job by honesty. wil not give and not take bribe(difficult way.. but true Karma.. ) corruption would be over.. If every poor child does not assume that education is not for him/her and struggle for it.(surely another difficult way..but you did Karma).. he will be successful person for sure..

Okie.. what I want to say.. "if we stop thinking like we are not for this or. this is not our problem'' all the problems will be resolved with one year from now..This is something which we should realise from the next moment" and we cannot affort to ignore it anymore.. We do this and I promise.. we will be super-power with less than a year..

Abhi.

the politicians in the country are corrupt not all but majority of them are. when in power they just think of how to increase their bank balance. The younger generation should come forward and take the lead to show the world that we have it and we can do it and we are better than others.
