i was wonderigng how you would spell the name ''desserie"? it is pronounced des-er-ray. I'm sure there are many ways to spell it, but im looking for the common spelling for the name. thanks!

I never heard this phrase in my life until the Carlos Mencia show came on Comedy Central. He says it constantly, so I think he considers himself one. Is this like black people calling themselves "THE N WORD" but nobody else can or is it just a harmless nickname or whatever? I am just curious.

Examples are: Jesus Christ, Julius Cesar, William the Conqueror, Adolf Hitler, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley, Pele, Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, etc

Think of time, e.g. years B.C., 1000, 1900, 2006, etc. Julius Cesar was a great leader but do poor people in Africa know more about him or David Beckham? More people in time probably would know Cesar, but present time there is huge media attention stretching to just about every person on the current planet.

Politicians and Leaders change the world and the way we live, but presently people pay more attention to sport, music, films, etc than politics. Does this make Pele, Elvis, Tiger Woods, etc more well know than the Queen or Osama Bin Laden?

Think of different countries. Churchill is a hero in England, but do Russians know who he is? Who made an impact on every country in the world?

They are usually being serious. ;) I don't think it is ever right to make fun of someone, but why do people insist on being a hypocrite? If you're going to be mean, then shouldn't you make sure that you have NO flaws? ;)

My boyfriend lives in a small apartment in a fairly small town. In the past 24 hours, we have had toilets flushing on their own and other crazy things happening. Our dog has been growling and barking at absolutely nothing, yet she seems to see something. I went outside on the balcony to let her go to the bathroom, and I was locked out of the apartment and no one else was inside. I struggled with it for a few minutes and was finally able to get in rather easily. However, our dog was very fearful about returning. Does anyone think these are just coincidences? If not, what is there to do about it?

just what does " once saved always saved " mean? ( why do you think not every denomination believes that way? )

i personally agree that god will not turn against anyone who seeks him.. but i dont agree that if a person decides to live their life they way they want to and AGAINST god ( having already given their life to god in the past ) will go to heaven. really they are returning gods gift.. returning the maker of the universes GIFT. how is it possible that such a thing can be rewarded?

Please whoever reads this question do no make any assumptions about my belief this is just a question.
I have heard different descriptions about the concept of Hell.
Could you clarify which Religion states that Hell is a burning place, which one states that is not a burning place but just being apart from God in the afterlife, and which one states there is no hell. thanks

so, what the Bible is saying, if you happen to really, really see and/or talk to God face to face, you chance having your life taken from you because you did have a one-on-one with Him. Hmmm, so God's allowed to kill, but the rest of us have to respect the Commandment, Thou Shalt Not Kill.
Again, very, very contradictory. Is God loving or a human killer?

I think that overeating is the same as drug abuse. Why do you see overweight people campaigning for public office, who have no self control of their own trying criticize another group with a different addiction.

I'm always hearing weird things about our eating and drinking habits. Like, I've heard we do drink alcohol and don't drink soda (which is wrong). Yeah, some of us don't drink soda, but that's a personal choice, it isn't forbidden by the church. I've heard that we aren't allowed to eat pancakes. And that's just the beginning of weird things I've heard and the ones I've mentioned are just diet related! Just because one Mormon does something weird it doesn't mean they are following their religion...so what's up with the assumptions?
