Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 (Amplified Bible)
5For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; and they have no more reward [here], for the memory of them is forgotten.
6Their love and their hatred and their envy have already perished; neither have they any more a share in anything that is done under the sun.
You see the dead no longer have any motive to be involved with us - they any more a share in anything that is done under the sun.
Besides that, if they even wanted to, God would not let them. Jesus told his disciples,
"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell,[a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'
"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'
"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

We already know. what would be the point in the retelling, although some do. There are those who have died, went to the spirit world and then returned to life. Also, there have been some people who while living, have checked out the hereafter and told us about it. What was your question again?

It sometimes happens in dreams if you are spiritual and pure enough and you were on good terms with the dead person. Sometimes I see my father in my dreams and he is not doing well. Sometimes he asks me for food. When I checked what this meant in a dreams analysis book (from an Islamic point of view), I knew that he was facing hard time and needed me to do good things in his name, you know charity and prayers. Later on when I saw him in another dream, he was fresh and looking better.
Peace

Read the story of Lazurus and the rich man in the bible.
In it, Lazurus goes to hell, he desperately wants to be allowed out just long enough to go tell his brothers to change their ways so that they will not have to endure what he is enduring.
Lazurus even begs for someone else to go in his place and tell his brothers.
God answers, I have sent many prophets to warn your brothers, if they will not believe the prophets, they will not believe you either.
That is why we do not have the ones who have passed before us coming back to tell us anything.

Who says they dont. How do we really know if they do?
I am a firm believer that anything is possible.
I wish you well.

This is impossible or they would have done it. Wait until you die and you will find out and your question will be answered.
