The word is "lui" (pronounced "looee" very quickly) but it depends on the context of the sentence. I'd need to see the sentence to translate it properly.

It depends on the sentence.
It could be "le" or "l ' " in some cases. Ex. I love him = Je l'aime.
In other cases, it would be "lui". Ex. I told him that I loved him = Je lui ai dit que je l'aimais.
He = IL.

il--he
lui--to him, or after a preposition (for him, with him)
le--'plain him' as, I see him
ex. Il est grand. He is tall.
Je parle avec lui I speak with him.
Je lui donne un chat. I give (to) him a cat
Je le vois I see him

Of course it may depend on the sentence you're using, but actually, "il" is the translation for "he". "lui" would be the translation for "him".

go with Paul.
il = he
him = lui
but as another person says, it depends on the context of the phrase.
