Take two people and put them on two seperate desolate islands, and give each of them a copy of the Bible (same version) and tell them this is all you need to re-construct the church that christ setup while he visited the earth, and tell them that all they need is the Holy Spirit to guide them in their quest for knowlege.

What proof do you christians have that the bible is authentically divine?

Do you have anything except for: The book says it's from god, the book can't be lying 'cause it's always right, it's always right 'cause it comes from god, I know it comes from god because it says it comes from god...

If you've come with an answer like: The bible is obviously perfect, just read it.
Then you'll have to do better than that... It has been shown to contain many contradictions (http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/by_name.html )
And though supposedly many prophecies of the bible have come true, they are all interperted in very abstract ways. Nostradamus' prophecies are supposed to have come true as well? So is he a prophet of god?

So, my question is, why do you think that the bible is divinely inspired?

Have you ever had a gut feeling that you felt you really must put your foot down on. For example, my husband was due to go and work in Korea (this was months ago) but I had a awful nagging feeling about it and told him I didn't want him to take the job because of it, now I am glad I did, but when I did it I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing.

my foster children were denied the right to have thair siblings in my home with them,the were also denied their right to timely theropy,they have been in my home for almost a full year and only 1 month ago did the 5 y/o start theropy. the were promised that three times that siblings would be placed with them and let down all 3 times and still lcfs placed other children in my home saying that it was out of thair hands can a kind soul out there help us find the anwers?

Hello. I am a 24 yr old guy who has been struggling mightily with a lust problem. I have a habit of occasional masturbation and watching porn. However, i am a virgin and will be that way till marriage.
I have tried extremely hard to put an end to my masturbation and porn habit. But I always fail. The longest I went without masturbation and porn is 60 days. I wish I would be able to totally refrain from masturbation and porn so I can feel not guilty and totally concentrate all my efforts and hearts on what is more important such as careers, school, friendship.
It seems my efforts is not enough because I really tried extremely hard for long duration of time to be free from these sins. But the fact is I am still struggling.
I need some serious advices and suggestions on how to curb these habits completely. Can you offer me some serious advice?

There are vesions and versions of the bible. Everybody thinks their version is the true one. But there are so many of them. I can wake up one morning take a bible and cross out all the things I dont like in the bible, add my one ideas and that would be another version of the bible. I would make any copies of it and in a hundred years chrisitians will be following my version of the bible thinking it is the true version. Thats preety much what happened.

I work in a medical office all the latinos have been restricted from speaking spanish. we are an asset to the office, we do not get paid extra for interpreting some of us have taken a stand and are refusing to interpret. we were not hired as interpreters, we were hired as receptionist, x-ray technicians, etc.etc. what rights do we have. could we be terminated for refusing to interpret to the pts. that come in to see the doctors? we feel somewhat like we are being used. please advise.
