In most cases I act on my instinct, unless there is nothing I can do about it. Like if I suddenly get a feeling that somethig really bad is about to happen.

Oh I always, always act on my gut feelings and have never been wrong when I have done, my friends think I'm psychic because of some of my gut feelings, not sure if there right but all I know is I just have to act on them and I am glad you did with yours too, bet you gave a huge sigh of relief the other day when you realised you had acted on your gut feeling.

Tough one - I'd go with gut feelings, just becuase I believe in that kind of thing. The problem is that if we do go against conventions because of gut feeling and it turns out for the best, we may feel that we've wasted an opportunity when the real situation is that we've avioded a mishap. In other words, I'm trying to say that life sucks - we only learn from our mistakes, and if we take pre-emptive action, we've got to be able to stick by our guns.

I am trying to learn to act on them more, because in the past I have sometimes ignored them and regretted it later. Especially with people; you know when you get a bad feeling about someone from the moment you meet him or her, and you don't really know why? Well, sometimes I have ignored that feeling because I didn't want to be impolite, only to discover later that my first impressions were dead on. I agree with the answer that said that our gut instincts are really experience talking.

The awful nagging feeling that you had is called experience. You don't know actually how to put it in words but it rings a bell. Some times i say to my self this is not quit right, but i don't no why! it is like when you see someone is angry, you can tell he is angry but you can't say what is in his face that made you think he is angry!
So to answer your question, i would say try to make a rational decision if you can't, then go for your gut feelings they are not just Hocus Pocus.

Always Always go with that gut. I totally agree. Once I let my son go with friends in a snow storm to a wrestling meet. He got home safe, but I will never forget the feeling that I had let him and me down by not going with my gut instinct which was to keep him home. I won't ever do that again.

I extremely have dealt with this each and every time and allow me say, those are boys not adult men. it is so stressful and that i don't comprehend why some adult men can not purely be truthful and say how they sense! If he would not such as you he ought to allow you understand, if he's jealous he ought to allow you understand, etc etc. If he's enjoying video games, permit him and flow on, there is not any element of attempting while the guy would not understand what he needs, you're able to do far extra perfect! :)

Yes I always go with my gut feeling! It usually pays off, like not going a certain way and then find out there was an accident that way!

I get very nervous when I get these feelings, Because I had Two very bad dreams come true.
Whether or not I act on them or not, depends on the feeling.
If danger of someone getting hurt, mentaly or physically I'd sure act.
I think these feelings and dreams do have meaning.

ACT! 99% of the time my gut feelings have been correct. Usually it's not apparent at the time, but it almost always shows later.
