There are vesions and versions of the bible. Everybody thinks their version is the true one. But there are so many of them. I can wake up one morning take a bible and cross out all the things I dont like in the bible, add my one ideas and that would be another version of the bible. I would make any copies of it and in a hundred years chrisitians will be following my version of the bible thinking it is the true version. Thats preety much what happened.

To a limited degree you are correct.
Today we have master texts that compare ancient manuscripts and can locate the discrepancies.
That is why we know 1 John 5:7 is wrong in the KJV.
100 years from now we could take your bible and locate what you removed and what you added. and restore the "bible" to it's original form.
Today it's not the truthfulness of the bible that is in question. it is the translation of the master text into English, or Spanish, or Germany, etc that is questioned.
example Phil 2:6 the Greek word most bibles translate as "grasp" literally means "robbery, rape, or plunder" why most bible translators used grasped, is because they are trying to make the bible say something it doesn't.

That is pretty much. Some are older than others, some are in different language. what does not happen. Unless if you are talking about the Jesus seminar or Thomas Jefferson, most Bible translations are just that, a translation. Some are more word for word, others are more thought by thought. Ideally, everyone would learn Hebrew and Greek and Aramaic and Chaldean so that we did not need translations of the Bible, but that is unrealistic.
Just because different versions use different words does not mean that one is better than the other. For example, one version might translate an idiom as individual words, another might translate it as what the idiom as a whole means.
There are also paraphrases. These are not translations. They are what somebody thinks a translation means. Some of these, like The Message, are half decent. Others are trash.
There are not different versions of the Bible itself, there are different versions of its translation. Somebody making up something and calling it the bible is very different from how we get our translations of the Bible, that is how we get cults.

A few of the reasons that there are so many translations (not versions) of the Bible are:
+ The English language is very complicated. It changes all the time. English is different in different countries. English can be different in different neighborhoods.
+ Biblical scholarship improves every day.
+ Archeology learns more and more about biblical times every year.
+ Distrust. Protestants cannot trust a Catholic translation and Catholics cannot trust a Protestant one. One Protestant denomination cannot trust a translation from a different denomination.
The original language documents nave not really changed. The Dead Sea Scrolls helped prove this. The scrolls are important because they testify to the accuracy of the people who copied and recopied the Scriptures over the centuries. Despite minor errors, they show us that the Old Testament has not changed since it was compiled.
Why the Catholic Old Testament has seven extra books than the Protestant Old Testament is another story.

what do you mean? as in like muslim bibles, catholic bibles etc? if its that, then i say that you should believe the one that has NOT been added too (that would be the regular, good old christian bible) if your talking NIV, KJV, etc, then just know this. the only reason there are so many is because some people jsut didnt pass highschool, so they cant read a King James version bible, so we make some bibles easier to read. (same message tho)

all beliefs have the basic foundation, reading most bibles you get that. I think go with which one you think is right. I go with The Holy Bible, because i believe God influenced and wrote the Bible by men of the earth

When you read the Quran you are going see the verses are fighting with each other because each verse it is against the other one

You better get it strait. You believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and savior.
