Christians: Why do u ask the Pope, Saints, or any other religious figure to pray/ask forgiveness/bless you on your behalf?
Surely they have no authority, except that which comes from GOD: doesn't it then make more sense to go to He who has the highest authority?

God doesn't need anyone to force Him down anyone's throat - people do that on their own. God is patient and looks at our hearts. The preachers I know are on an equal level with me and everyone else. They are on a quest to grow in Christ just as anyone who follows Him is.
Jesus was not sent to be an intermediary. He was sent to be a sacrifice - to offer himself to atone for our sin because there wasn't anything else good enough.

Precisely for that reason, Deity in it's completeness is beyond the comprehension of a finite human mind. Intermediaries are needed to give humans something to which we can relate and communicate at our level.

I take it that you have little to no faith in God-- who gave you and everyone else life/ take a chance and ask our father in heaven directly the question you ask--he will guide you- but you have to be patient and keep your eyes and ears open to the path he leads you. God will come through for you. You may not be seriously looking to God--keep in mind that God will answer us at the right moment. He may need to show you other things that will lead to your questions. there is so much that God wants to tell or show us-----KEEP THE FAITH---THAT WILL LEAD YOU FAR--

The only intermediaies are priests, in the Catholic faith, I am not a,Catholic. Ministers present The Bible, God, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, as a study of Biblical stories, and stories of Jesus, God, and The Holy Spirit.

Come on, he's obviously not great and powerful, he needed a rainbow to remember not to destroy the world again...

(9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.)

COME on everyone. The answer is that we don't NEED intermediaries to pray to God, but just like we can ask anyone such as a friend or relative to pray with us and for us, we can also ask the saints in heaven to do the same (that is to pray for us and/or with us) Jesus said that when two or more are gathered in His name He is in their midst, He turned the water into wine at the wedding at Caana because his mother interceded for the servants. He even said he was not ready to perform any miracles but he only did it because Mary asked.him and insisted. When the saints in heaven are asked through someone's prayers for help, it is not them that answers the prayer. It is God because they turned to Him and said, Please help them, just as Mary said to Jesus at Caana. So also if you ask me to pray for you and the prayer is answered, it is not me, but God when it is answered. Actually intercessory prayer can be faster because of the factor of "If two or more are gathered in My name, I am in their midst." So, even Catholics pray to Jesus directly all the time, but like I said, intercessory prayer is not necessary, but many times it is faster.

He is so holy that we, being the sinful people that we are, cannot come to God on our own. We're not permitted in His presence. He sent Jesus (fully man, yet fully God) to suffer on our behalf so we could come to the Father.

Islam is like that, you don't have anyone between you and God, no priests, no rabines, no anything. Its just you and God.

Islam is a simple way to follow God, it doesn't have any complex rituals apart from the peregrination to Mecca, just pray, fast and have your mind with God. Then you'll find him.

To spread the Word.
Then it's to see if you have Faith without actually seeing Him for yourself.
