If there are truly secret societies out there, How do people come to know about them? And what is it that draws us to the taboo. Curiosity might just kill this Lyon!

Muslims are having a hard time of it at the moment, and i am ashamed to say that i have had the same knee jerk reaction as everyone else over the terorist threats. I have decided though that i am being silly, it is not fair to judge a whole religion and race of people on the acts of a few nutters.

What we need is a bit of education, do all muslims see us as infidels and racists because we do not worship Allah or is this just the press and internet spouting rubbish? What is a fundamentalist? what are the wests policies in iraq that are hated so much? Why suicide bombs?

Finaly, why when the pope said that islam was preached by the sword (sorry i am paraphrasing) did some Muslims carry out atacks to prove him right?

I am not catholic, i was brought up Methodist but i am not a very religious person.

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, it's 1.21 in the morning and i am half asleep. I am not meaning to offend, i just want answers.

Thanks and sorry for going on.

Alright Mary says that her baby is blessed, everybody will call me blessed. I have to say that that kind of works against the Mary being perfect argument. A little selfish Maybe???
And elizabeth is not an expert, she can be wrong and have opinions like when she says since you are Jesus' mom, you are the most blessed over all women?!?

Do you Believe that Jesus actually walked the earth?

I don't care about the God /Prophet thing. Just curious if you believe that he was a real historical figure.

And your religious affiliation or lack of if you would be so kind.

I know this has already been asked (and I knwo it was on The Simpsons) but none of the people explained how this debunks the existence of an all powerful being (God). If God can indeed microwave a burrito hot enough so that he can't eat it, then he wouldn't be able to eat it, therefore he wouldn't be able to do everything (showing that he is not all powerful). If God cannot microwave the burrito that hot, then he can't do it, therefore he can't do everything and he is not all powerful. The Simpsons defeated the existence of God...I CAN believe it.

In Deuteronomy 18, Moses stated that God told him: “I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account.” (Deuteronomy 18:18-19).From these verses we conclude that the prophet in this prophecy must have the following three characteristics:

1) That he will be like Moses.

2) That he will come from the brothers of the Israelites, he is not Jewish

3) That God will put His words in to the mouth of this prophet and that he will declare what God commands him.

II have a serious medical condition. There so many things I do for it that I much rather not have to do and that's in additional to the normal daily stuff that is kinda drudgery. Well, I am so happy to have my God to do this stuff with me. I need the additional energy.

Geneticists and archaeologists are now suggesting that the DNA of Amerindians is primarily of Asian descent and not of Middle Eastern (Abrahamic) descent. This contradicts what Mormon or LDS prophets have declared; that they are descended from Ephraim and Manasseh. Archaeologists have had a great deal of difficulty identifying with surety ANY of the sites mentioned in the Book of Mormon and have NOTHING concrete to point to as proof of the veracity of the book. There is no question that it is filled with truths and inspiring stories. But if science ulitmately proves the Book of Mormon a fraud, where will the LDS people go for spiritual food and what is to become of all the wealth that they have acquired. I have heard that they are one of the wealthiest churches in the US, if not the world.

real question,

seen atheists here make such a big deal out of their belief that there is no heaven, hell, afterlife, whatever.

but what is this confidence based upon?
I mean if its not there, then you can't experience the vacancy of it.... where at least theoretically if there was something, or the possibility of something, someone could theoretically perceive it in some way.

NOT having perceived something doesn't mean it definitely is not there....

I guess I don't see how someone can be so confident when their only evidence is the fact that they have not observed any evidence.

I mean at least most people who belive in something, in their own mind, have experienced something to lead them to that belief..... and you can't disprove what someone else has observed, you can merely find it untestable and/or unrepeatable.

seems scientifically unsound to be so confident due to a lack of evidence.

If I eat "bad" food and drink alcohol and smoke occassionally how much time does that really take away from my life? Maybe I live to 70 being a pig and a drunkard well how long does the "healthy" person live? Maybe they live to 90. It is not like healthy people live to 200 or something. What is the real incentive for living a healthy lifestyle cuz lets face it, it aint longevity.

You criticize other countries that have been around longer than you.

You think that George Bush is a good president.

You do not know how to read but you play American football.

You deny your countries own flaws.

You think that an Australian and an Englishman sound alike.

You drive a hummer to work.
