Listening to the tape of the statement (and when I heard in live in 1969) it sounds like the "a" is missing. Armstrong has always maintained that he said the "a" - or at least intended to say the "a". Was reading about the scientist who now claim he did say the "a" by the static/echo.etc. covered it up.

So who knows....
