How can I get them to leave something on my front door without having to wait to sign a piece of paper telling them to?

UPS will only leave something at the fron door if the sender does not require a signiature. They will leave a piece of paper saying they tried to deliver. THey will try an additional time. Talk to your regular driver and tell him/her it's OK to leave packages and show them a good spot to leave them.-- Not all packages will be able to be left this way.

Unless the person shipping the package requires a signature, UPS will leave the package on your doorstep. They do it daily with our packages. However, they will not leave it if a signature is required.
