Society & Culture - 4 September 2006

The last two days have been really cool out, so everyone in my neighborhood has had doors and windows open, and have been outside more. We have seen a few argument and a few high school boys brawling behind a house. OK, here's the question: Do you think these thigs always go on and we just don't notice them when we are shut up inside when it's hot, or is it because everyone is out and interacting more?

I already stated a question, and I mean you are who you are, but I was talking about the stereotypical people who are just doing it to be stereotypical. Those passionate queens.

They make it so hard for me, because first of all no one even BELIEVED me when I came out, and my parents still have no idea that I'm gay!! I also have to put up with a bunch of crap how EVERYONE thinks that gay people have to be queens.

And let's not forget I'm told that since I'm young I have to have an absolutely smooth, perfectly skinny body, no facial hair at allllll. It drives me nuts!

Is there anyone else who hates to be identified with these kind of gay people? Do you think I have the right to be angry?

Please don't get offended, you shouldn't be offended if people don't like who you are, 'cause you're you for yourself and not going to changen anyways. I just wouldn't mind finding like minded people!

If another nation came to the U.S.A. and saw all the possibilities it had and came over here with better weapons intelligence etc. and they killed all us civilians and set up there own cities and forced us to think like them add brought diseases over and made us live on small little areas of land would you people think that is fair, even if they were 'better' than us and more technologically advanced and took away our land would you be mad. ( I think you know what this realates to)

I am a christian and I am sick of seeing all these hateful messages of people insulting each other on here by saying that their god doesnt exist or that the athiests are goin to burn for eternity. Why cant we all just respect each other's belief systems and not insult each other. To me, if you are an athiest, that is fine. But please do not insult me because I choose to believe in a God and you do not. And the same to you so called christians... stop being so hateful. Jesus forgave sinners and you should too. He never threatened them, he only helped them.

My sister was visiting with her family from out of town. They were staying in a hotel but spent some time in my home. They have a son who is 20 years of age who has been known to steal money from family that we know of and other little items (jewelery...etc...ipod speakers) On one of his visits he was spotted a couple of times by a couple of my children and my cleaning lady going through my husbands drawers and on my sons desk while my son was sleeping. I did not want to tell my sister about her son while she was here visiting me. My sister presently has alot of stuff on her plate right now (physical and mental with her husband) and our mother being a demanding person living only 10 minutes by car away from her. Now that the visit is over everyone went back home, I feel I should tell her. What should I do? How do I tell her without her becoming defensive and angry?

Is the purpose of Christianity to cater to the whims of worldy values and expectations or to serve God? Extreme fundamentalism is NOT what true Christianity is either, but being loving and forgiving is not the same thing as condoning and encouraging sins. If everything is relative and dependent on your own opinion rather than objective standards, then it becomes meaningless.

How many people here claim God talks to them? How does he talk to you? With a voice as in the bible, or has he changed?

I DO BELIEVE GOD CAN AND WILL TALK TO SELECT PEOPLE

The Armianists believe a person out of their own dead sinful position have the ability to have faith before God regenerates their heart.
