Because that's just a bunch of nonsense taught to schoolchildren to keep them from rebelling. The actual government is oligarchy of the wealthy. Our "representative" government is bought and paid for by the wealthy for the wealthy. You are a serf, and so am I. Nothing more.

Women have ran for president!!! All you people who are saying that no woman has ran for president don't have a clue what you are talking about. Do some research before you open your big mouth and call other people dumb.
One of the most sucessful was Shirley Chisholm, the first black woman to be elected to congress. In 1972 she became the first woman to make a serious bid for presidency. She won 152 delegate votes.
Women's rights have come a long way in this country, but we still have a way to go. The most sickening thing to see is another woman who is against women's rights. If you knew the things that people have done and sacrificed to make it so that you could even be considered as being equal to a man... People today are too removed from the struggles of the past, and they take their rights for granted.

No woman has ever run.
When a woman does, she will have a fair and equal chance to be voted into office, just like any man does.
There is no law that says a woman cannot run.
How can we be hypocrites? If a man says a woman can run and then the woman decides not to, that is not the man's choice and therefore not his fault. It is the woman's choice.
I think what our society is doing now is putting men down and pushing women's rights too much. If nobody acted like it was an issue and really treated each other equally, it would no longer be an issue.

Society takes time to change. Women didn't even get to vote until 1920. For the next 50 years they voted for men just to prove that they could vote rationally, like men. Since the 1970's people have been saying that a women president was possible. And in the next Presidential elections they will probably get that opportunity.

Cause no american woman is stupid enough to run for president (Joke) I think that mostly it has to do with the actual level of power of The US. So what if India has a woman president the president of india has NO Power. The US WILL have a female president but it still has issues with racial and sexual equality that need to be adressed (Shoot we could have an AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE president in 2008 wouldn't that be awesome :) )

We did have a woman president you nitwit. Hillary ran the show the whole 8 yrs Bill was in office. How many decent women would put up with all of the lies and crap he sold us for 8 years and remain with him after three sex scandals? to the comment from above by iss man since when do people lead a car? I have always drove mine. If you have to lead one then whats the point of having one? You know cars are those big metal well some fiberglass and some aluminium things with four wheels that you put gasoline in and it has a motor and you sit behind a steering wheel and drive. Its not one of those hairy things with four legs that you can lead around . those are called horses.
