Is it because American woman have been taught by society that their only place is in magazine covers like Glamour and Cosmopolitan or in the kitchen?
Is American society as oppressed as the countries they force democracy on by war? Are Americans HYPOCRITES?

They have! Whoever told you that no woman has ever ran for president doesn't know what they are talking about. Here is a better question: Why have you not heard of any woman running for president?

Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman to be elected to the American congress and in 1972 she became the first woman to seriously run for president. She recieved 152 delegate votes and I believe she beat out a few other white men who were running.

Elizabeth Dole ran for President in 2000. Carole Moseley Braun ran for President in 2004.
