The Bible is only authorative in Hebrew (old) or Greek (new testament). In any other language, the Bible is unoficial and unsutible for doctrine. Consider the implications of this. Only 30 percent of all Christians worlwide are literate, and of these fewer still can read classical texts. This means that the vast majority of Christians, well above 70 percent, cannot read the book that created their religion. It also means for them Christianity is what their leaders say it is.

The advent of Religion and God happened when self consciousness dawned upon human beings about 80.000 years ago. Religion was invented by our ancestors as a tool to curb human hysteria of fear and death.
afterall dident paul Tillich call it the 'trauma of been self conscious"? To live with the reality that we are going to become extinct is something that no one can accept.
but why hold on to something which makes no sense at all such as religion?
why cant we humans accept reality about our death and total extinction and work towards a better world filled with love and peace?

Do you think there's a level of faith people put into science? I get told all the time to question my beliefs as a Christian and not to just blindly follow what my pastor tells me on Sunday (I started out atheist and found God through reason not by going to church). I propose that people put every bit as much faith in science. Their bibles are the textbooks they read in class. They have full trust in experiments they didn't perform themselves nor even know the people who did them. In addition science is not objective. It is very much subjective. One only needs to look at the global warming debate to see that. In the end if someone wants to beleive something they will find reason to believe it. So wheter you don't beleive in God or you do. I think it comes down to what you ultimately want to believe. What do you think?

If you're Christian do you care if I tell you Happy Hannukha, vice versa?
If you're Athiest would mind me saying "God bless you" when you sneeze?
If you're gay do you mind me calling things gay that I destest?
You may elaborate and go on to say what else offends me.
I personally am offend when some one tell me "Enjoy!" I don't want to be forced to enjoy anything.

Serious and polite question intended. I sometimes think that they taught many, but not all, of the same tenets. I wonder how dissapointed they would be with all of us. I am not implying I see all as the same though so please do offensive comments.

Most costumes I've looked at are made with shiny fabrics that don't look real. This Halloween costume is going to dub as Renaissance Faire garb.
