I do not understand either. Too many are willing to judge the majority by it's worst members. I have the same problem as a Catholic.

There wasn't really much prejudism against muslims before the towers were destroyed with all those innocent people in them. Afterwards, there were news stories showing muslims in the mid-east having parties in the streets about it, thought it was wonderful that so many innocent people had been murdered. It didn't leave a lot of us with a very good opinion of muslims. I realize there are good christians and bad, and good muslims and bad. The thing is, the terrorism is being done by muslims, so it makes all muslims look bad. Actually, most of us don't hate muslims, we just hate terrorists, as I'm sure you do. Unfortunately, sometimes this happens when terrible things are done in the name of a religion. I'm truly sorry you're getting hurt by this.

Billthedude has the right idea. If you want people to not judge you by the actions of a few, then prove to us you are worthy of respect. Stop cowering and remove the terrorists from within your midst. I keep hearing that they represent a small portion of Muslims, but I don't see a majority of Muslims doing anything about it. You see the reaction we have as an attack on Muslims. How do you see the marine barracks in Lebanon, the Khoufy Towers in Saudi Arabia, the 2 embassies in East Africa, the Pan-Am flight over Lockerby, Scotland, the truck bomb in the world trade center, the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, the hijacking of four jets and the murder of 3000 men women and children. I assume you are an intelligent man, your English is much better than my Egyptian, but can you see why we react? If you won't stop your own peoples from causing destruction, we will. And yes, many innocents will get hurt in the process, that is a sad fact of war. What do you think Iran will do when it has nuclear weapons? How long before Israel is destroyed? How long before the entire Middle East disappears in radioactive sand? If you don't do something to stop the violence from within, it will be stopped from without.

I know that what I will write will NOT be appreciated by those who don't want to think, but I'll write it anyway: Here's the best thing to do: Instead of criticizing people who are against Islam, show some of Islam's love and compassion by understanding why they are reacting that way. And when a terrorist performs a horrible act in the name of Islam, go to Islamic chat rooms and mosques and demand that you and your fellow Muslims bond together and openly protest (in LARGE numbers) against the terrorists for smearing the name of Islam. This is what I would do (and have done) whenever someone who is in a group that I'm associated with smears its name.

Most people don't hate all Muslims. We may not like those who caused the 9/11 disaster, but we can't judge all Muslims by the terror caused by a select few individuals.

stereotyping is the most ignorant thing people can do!!
i know Muslims and Christians live in peace in most of the middle east countries, although there may have been some problems but problems with minorities happen all over the world!!
blacks were prosecuted in America
Jews were prosecuted in Germany
Muslims were prosecuted in Bosnia

this has nothing to do with religion teachings rather the ego and intolerance of human beings.

I think it comes with the fact that leaders in the muslim community have yet to denounce any wrong doings within that faith. Some of understand that not all musilims are awful people. But, what we christians and others really want to hear is a rebuking of your brothers and sisters that practice the muslim faith.

That would be similar to Christians or Catholics killing innocent people. There would have to be fellow Catholics and Christians that would have to stand up and rebuke those who have done wrong.....

You are correct - it is unfair.

The vast majority of every country consists of people who want the same things. Peace, health, prosperity, security, happiness.
These are universal.

Extremist factions and politics get in the way of these.

Your English isn't that bad. I have seen worse here.
Have a good day.

I respect what you are saying. Perhaps the answer is for you to take your light out from under the barrel so it may shine for all to see? That is the best metaphor I can think of to say what I want to say. I wish you well.

Because...

1. You're religious leaders are not speaking out against the terrorists, and

2. Your religion says you can tax or kill anyone that does not believe what you do. What about that is peaceful?
