There are so many similarities between them; it's hard to say which is superior.

Both were spirited away as infants from places where they were in danger. Likewise, both died and were resurrected.

Both involve stories about sacrificing one's personal life for the good of humanity.

Both have clearly recognizable symbols known worldwide: the big "S" is Superman's thing; the crucifix is all Jesus.

Both have incredible, near godlike powers they fortunately used for good instead of evil.

Both have an archenemy: Lex Luther is Superman's headache and Satan the Devil gives Jesus fits.

Both are known in any part of the planet. Go anywhere—from Uzbekistan to Botswana—and you'll find any person you ask will know who they both are. Millions of people over seven decades have followed the exploits of Superman via comic books and movies; people have followed or even foolishly worshipped Jesus over several centuries via television, private schools, and literature such as the Bible.

Simply if your heavevn will be my hell, and I believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, was crucified for all our sins, was the Son of God, and lived without sin, then rose again from the grave three days later, where will I go?

My greatest desire is the betterment of my soul and that of those around me, to be good to my fellow person. Feed the sick, shelter the homeless, care for the orphan and widow, feed the imprisioned and most of all give hope to those who need and want it. I dont sound that scary but all my friends that are atheist seem to be so afraid of my faith. In an appendix to the question it should be known that as most of the responses are invariably to be what they are it would be great if they were thoughtfull and honest and not just a knee-jerk response I have no agenda here just unabashidly inquizative. Best of Luck to all.

A Quick Study on the Tithe

A portion of one’s earnings, one tenth, that are given to those who perform the work of the Lord since it belongs to the Lord, Leviticus 27:32 ‘And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.”
Also, the law of Moses required a double tithe (20%) every third year! Deuteronomy 14:28 “At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates.”
*What happened to the law of Moses for Christians when Jesus died on the cross?
“Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby,” Ephesians 2:15-16.
“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross,” Colossians 2:13-14.
*New Testament Giving is NOT of necessity (required)!
2Corinthians 9:7 "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." Did you notice that Christians give from what purposes that God has placed there by the Holy Spirit?

In 1838, Joseph Smith had a difficult time getting money out of his first converts. His church had been going for eight years and he could not get his members to donate enough money to keep his church alive. Smith knew that the previous law of consecration and of property was a failure. The solution was to be come to be known as the revelation of the "Law of Tithing." This new law forced his members into giving 10% of the their income. Smith’s revelation on tithing had warned Mormons, "And I say unto you, if my people observe not this law ...behold, verily I say unto you, it shall not be a land of Zion unto you." Everybody must tithe or God will not let Zion be established! Other LDS leaders declared that individual LDS members who do not pay tithe risk their communication with God. Elder John A. Widtsoe stated about paying your LDS tithing: "The tithe-payer establishes communion with God," (Deseret News, 16 May 1936, Church section, 5).

*The early Mormon converts found it hard to give even 10% to Joseph Smith because they did not believe it their hearts and the Holy Ghost was not there!!!

Those Mormon converts were not very spiritual. They had supposedly prayed about the Book of Mormon and the “Holy Ghost” had told them it was true. However, the fact that Joseph Smith needed to force them to 10% by re-instituting tithing shows that these Mormon converts did not have the Holy Ghost to motivate them in giving or in reading the Book or Mormon! How could they know the Book of Mormon was true if they did not have the Holy Ghost!!!

*The law of tithing was a curse, but Jesus redeemed us from that curse!
Galatians 3:10 - For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Galatians 3:13 - Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree..."

*Why do Mormons want to go back under that curse of the law?
Titus 3:4-5 "But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."
Generous giving is a very loving thing to do. Paul was inspired by God's Holy Spirit to declare that "God LOVES a cheerful giver" (2Corinthians 9:7). Cheerfully giving from the heart is a virtue.

I played baseball on a mixed team all summer and the guys were all shocked to discover that yes! I can throw a ball AND hit a pitch over second base and into the outfield. There were a bunch of other women who could play quite well also, but without exception the guys thought each girl would completely suck. To the point that the "outfield" would all come "in" way past second base, and guys would get ready to "cut off" throws by girls even if it was just from first to second or something! I mean get a grip only a few women were that bad! Are men that sexist or what?

,,,caring for my soul? Why do you try to place yourself between me and what I believe? Is it the lack of a label. If I spoke of "God" instead of "Love" would you feel better? If we can say "God is Love", then why can we not say "Love is God"?
