Reference scriptures :
1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1 Timothy 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

1 Timothy 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

1 Timothy 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

Now this text of scripture excludes a woman from that roll of Bishop,so any woman that is in that roll must have a wife so that would make her a lesbian or have a lesbian spirit.

is that right?

I have a feeling I'm going to get a lot of answers that have nothing to do with my question, but here it goes:

What if someone does what they believe to be right, but their acts are viewed as wrong by society. Have they sinned? Would God/Allah/etc be disappointed if you followed what you believed to be right/wrong? For example:

- Someone legitimately believes that God/Allah/etc. would be pleased if the leader of a non-believing society were killed, so they kill them.

BEFORE you answer with "God doesn't want that", both the bible and koran quote that non-believers should be killed...but that's not even the point. The point is this person did what they felt was right, and what was wanted by their god.

So, did they sin?

Just looking for opinions, not preaching.

Thunder was a god stamping his feet. Whirlpools were mermen swimming in circles. Pantheons were used to explain the multiple goings on in Nature. Then Akenaten narrowed it down to a single god, Amon (or was it Re?) Then the Jews kinda did the same.
Then the old testament was written. Jesus came along and changed everything (God of the Jews became God of Everybody) and God became this white haired old man seated with Jesus on his right hand (and Satan on his left?)
We, as humans, have a problem. We MUST anthropomorphize our creator to understand, (because we have to know what's going on) and so God has 2 feet, 2 hands, white hair, and looks a lot like Santa Claus (friendly old grandpa guy, who slew all the 1st born in Egypt, funny)
God is. I accept that. God may have even been "first cause" that set off the Big Bang. But he made me (us) smart enough to realize we can figure out the Universe, but we don't have to figure him (her, it, them) out. I can handle Not knowing.

During my summer vacation I slept with my friend's cousin( once). I explicitly told him not to tell her but it seems like he is a guy that kiss and tell. She found out and now we are definitely not talking. My friend is gay and she likes me but I told her that I wasn't into her. Do you think that she has a right to be mad at me..or am I being selfish?

p.s when i slept with him we were both high..she did ask me if i liked her cousin i told her no (its the truth)..he's not my type

Regardless of your belief in God, Pascal's wager is bunk, and there isn't a single ***theologist*** who thinks that is makes any sense.

If you don't know... Pascal's wager is the idea that it is better to believe in god than to not because you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

It assumes that there is only one belief to choose (and it's the right one)
It assumes that god can be fooled (if you choose to believe based on reward and logic, then you have no faith)
....

Oh hell, read the article. Pascal's wager is crap on many levels.

Can we all agree to STOP trying to use it?
