Reference scriptures :
1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
1 Timothy 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
1 Timothy 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
1 Timothy 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Now this text of scripture excludes a woman from that roll of Bishop,so any woman that is in that roll must have a wife so that would make her a lesbian or have a lesbian spirit.
is that right?

Dear Holyghost,
considering the screen-name you have given yourself you should season your words with a lot more grace (Colossians 4:2-4). If your question is in regards to woman teaching in the church- yes it is clear that the position of Bishop (or Pastor in our day and time) is a role that is clearly set aside for men.
In some situations (esp. overseas on the missions field) there are a lack of men who are stepping up and woman will step up. The idea is not that woman shouldn't teach -- in fact we have great elementary school pastors (and i think they are better that they are woman than men), but they are to be under the leadership of the men- because God has shown this to be the ideal design. Men have a tendency to not want to step up to their responsibility and woman have a tendency sometimes to want to lead instead of follow.
In terms of the requirements for the bishop- the passage is really saying the husband is to be a one woman man! Yes the passage does teach that a Bishop should be a man- but it is not saying that a woman bishop has any lesbian tendencies (you are really taking God's word out of context- and "holy ghost" that ain't a Spirit-filled thing to do. If your point is simply that woman shouldn't be pastors who oversee the entire church i agree with you. But please don't represent God to be a chauvinistic, woman hating God. Your on here as the 'Holy Ghost' to glorify God's name not defame it. i hope that you take this rebuke kindly out of a love to see you and more importantly to see Christ represented as He should be.
Kindly,
Nickster

You take every word so literally don't you? Or facetiously...that is. So let me ask you: when God refers to every person on this planet as the son of God, does that mean your daughter is a "son" of God or a boy?
Good luck with that belief....
The bible is a book of poetry filled with similes, metaphors and the like...and writings meant for the situations of the times...that can be applied today as the times are today....
When in Rome, do as the Romans do? Hear of that one?
I don't think they're all lesbians, in other words.

Wot?
Not content with Man shall not lay down with Fellowman.
U need 2 find verses 2 deflect from the fact, homosexuality male or female, is against Gods Law.
Sorry, U read in 2 it what ever U want 2 C.
But I know what I know & would find it incredibly hard 2 change the words 2 suit let alone B convinced.
As I know, it considered Unclean in Gods eyes.
Sorry.

No, it's not even close. This just excludes women from the clergy, period, and is backed up by Paul saying that women are to not usurp authority over men, but are to remain silent in the church.
Also, there is no such thing as a lesbian 'spirit.'

NO, not every woman that is a preacher has a lesbian spirit.
Please study what you are asking, What about all the women in the Old and New Testament that are called to preach? In the last days your menservants and maidservents will prophecy (preach) in my name. 2 chap. acts
Obviously something else must be going on here in Timothy.
Please again, study for the truth.

Don't forget 1 Timothy 2:12 (I think): A woman is to teach a man nothing. She is to remain silent.

What in the world do female preachers and lesbians have in common? I'm against both but to say your a lesbo if you're a female preacher is just stupid. I think you just made up anything and threw it out there!

No thats not right becuase when the bible was written they didn't have women preachers, and the times have changed so a women can have a husband. and if you look it up in the bible it also looks down upon gay's. so it wouldnt be right to have a gay preacher.

Oh, and wouldn't *that* just be a horrible thing.
By the way, every male preacher I've ever met violated at least one of those rules.
