On Aug. 14, President Bush signed a bill that transferred the ownership of the cross and war memorial site to the federal government, specifically the Department of Defense.

The bill halted a legal process that seemed destined to lead to the removal of the cross, which has stood on city-owned land for decades.

With the land now belonging to the federal government, the legal battle will shift to how courts interpret the federal – not state – constitutional ban on government support for religion.

Cross supporters contend they have a better chance of winning under the federal analysis. But opponents, including the ACLU, say that virtually nothing has changed with the transfer of land ownership.

I was just at a large retailer. The lady in front of me (call her Anna) let her friend (call her Mary) place 2 extra items on the belt. I thought Mary was just adding those items to Anna's order, no big deal, right?

...But when the checkout clerk goes to check those two items, Anna says that it is a separate order from Mary's.

...After finishing Anna's checkout, the clerk takes Mary's membership card and runs it through. Her order comes to $28.19 - she gives him 2 $20 bills and then spends about two minutes rummaging through her purse for 19 pennies...

I mean - come on - it's bad enough you cut in front of me, but then you have to count out 19 pennies...is it just me, or was this another example of rude behavior?

we live with the choices we make in life. My question is if we have this option to live with our own choices, how do we know that on a daily basis we are doing the right thing? Such as driving your car, which is polluting the earth, buying fast food which is bad for you, going to lunch with a female co-worker if your married, etc....

they believe someone 2 thousand years ago died for them? how does that make any sense? thats like saying someone 2 thousand years ago jumped in front of a bullet for you, you didnt exist at the period of time and so therefore you werent infront of a bullet or anything so that has no relation to you but yet christians believe in this garbage cause they got no brain, how dumb can they be?

A man is very wealthy when he dies, but he only focused on money and material things his entire life, he was highly educated and did indeed die very wealthy. Another man dies very poor.
